Puncture Bug(s)

Puncture as a projectile skill works terrible on non-flat terrain. Whether you have the high or the low ground, you tend to shoot over enemies or into the ground. Also enemies that leap at you can’t be hit during their leap, because you will shoot under them. Note that I have these problems mostly on using puncture as a charged projectile skill (enabled by ‘Stay of Execution’ in the puncture passive tree’). As you only get to shoot 1 strong projectile per 1-0.5 seconds if fully charged, it feels terrible when it misses for targeting reasons.

Other less important problems I have with puncture as a charged proj skill:

  • Using the shadow talent allowing you too shoot 3 proj parrallel to each other is great, but sometimes mobs just run between the proj gaps like Neo and don’t get hit which feels bad.
  • Some bosses or yellow mobs can block your projectile, or having crazy mitigation making your projectile go from 10k damage to 200 damage. This makes the build/ playstyle feel useless. (yes I am using phys penetration idols and passives)
  • Holding the attack button will automatically release the projectile when it’s fully charged, this is great. However, continuing to hold the button will pretend to charge a new arrow that will never fire, even if you release the button. Continues charge + fire through button holding would be nice.
  • There is limited range on puncture projectiles. Although visually they fly off the screen, monsters that in the corner of your screen generally won’t get hit, because they are just out of range, same goes for monsters just out of your screen (not screens away, but literally half a meter out of your view). As the playstyle generally relies on being at a long range with damage mods that increase the further away you are, you now have to find a range where you are at max distance while not being out of range of the enemy. As this playstyle struggles with mobs that run up to you or quickly close the gap, I felt that at range the skill should feel powerfull, and because of these interactions it doesn’t.

Lastly,
I might have missed something, but is there a way to increase channelling/ charging speed outside the ‘Night’s Decent’ passive? To my knowledge, attack speed and cast speed are useless to this build.

Yes I have learned to move away from stairs during any fight. You can’t hit the mobs on stairs but some how they can still hit you. This goes for all skills.
