Primordial resources farm is such a pain

I played to the level 80 already and since I made the mistake of buying a pouch saying “May contain crystallized heart” and I needed 2 for the item…still nowhere close to buy that item…

Every run in that primordial realm for those bones is e-x-a-c-t-l-y the same. You get our with a few thousands bones and now you try to gather the 2x15K for the heart and the 15k again for the item, how is that fun. Can’t we just get more primordial items regularly even if like 90% are bad and we throw them away?

(And yes I took the talent for more primordial realms etc)

Bones are the real stranglehold on getting them. We should have more ways of improving bone drops. Or even a way to exchange some of the materials we don’t want into bones.
I managed to buy 3 reflect chests so far, but for all of them the last resource I was lacking was always bones.

higher corruption, more bones, zoom zoom (:

on my legacy character i’m overflowing with materials, 1200 C, slot the “Rampant Coast” into both map slots on weaver tree, not only do you get tons of materials (including multiple crystal hearts per run often), but you get the uniques as flat out drops too, mainly the 3 that don’t drop from skarven, but the other ones can drop too from what i hear.

Bones are only the limiting factor early on, this shifts the further you get, because they scale similar to gold. Then the primary materials will be the limiting factor and you can buy/exchange some of them for gold and the other materials you don’t need.

Once you are in empowered bone drops will significantly increase and if you done everything decently you at least have your first primordial before empowered anyway.

I’m farming 700c and bones are still my limiting factor. Granted, I do use conversions (since I only use 1 of the 4 currencies) and those also spend bones, but that’s part of it. We have ways to convert “useless” currency for other currency by paying bones, but we have no way of using that same useless currency for bones.
If they simply added a way to buy bones with currency, even at 500 per, it would already help massively.

I ahve 13 crystal hearts, and 224 petals, my body armor costs 30 petals and a crystal heart and 20k bones. I have 120k bones, I literally am still hard checked by bones.

That being said, the grind is only bad if you consider repeated buys of a slot to fish for LP.

just getting the item at a baseline is doable quickly. So sounds like the grind is working kinda as intended/well designed.

I just find that the problem is really in the fact that it is a “grind” excactly the way you said it. I only did 20 times that little area in the jungle and I am already fed up. It is always the same with the same boss at the end. Even if it loot more resource in the future I cannot see myself continuing. I would have prefered if it was even just random monster appearing.

you can do the bloodline grove + rampant coast for resources, it’s more efficient, slot them into weaver tree map slots, gg.

I am also seeing the problem in the fact that these things are not available in the compaign. We aren simply collecting the currency for the late game. I think they shoulden to make several options for items- for the early and mid game, and not just for the late game.

What’s not available in the campaign? I’m running the campaign with a new toon and am getting them all. The only one I haven’t gotten yet is a Crystalized Heart, which is rare so that’s understood, but I could buy it if I had enough resources.

The items. They are too expansive.

Ah, so you meant too expensive rather than not available. That I agree with to some extent. I was finally able to buy something at level 58 or 59. It seems very slow to get enough mats to actually buy anything from the vendor.

I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing though for the most part, but think the ability to gain the mats should probably be easier through the campaign. They could have some quest rewards offer Ancient Bones or something.

Hopefully with it being a new mechanic, they will make some adjustments in the near future.

The Bones are definitely my greatest gripe. Like, why on earth have such a good item like Tyrant’s Skull be available at level 36 but then cost 13,500 Bones? No one is going to have that amount of Bones unless they’re on like their 3rd alt. I also can’t buy one for cheap from the Marketplace because the item factions are locked behind Chapter 9 of the campaign.

This entire thing feels like it circles back around to Eleventh Hour Games not wanting folks to complete the campaign too fast nor to have fun doing it. Having Tyrant’s Skull would really help my damage output and make progressing through the slog of a campaign easier, but nope. I need to grind a lot of currency first.

I bought my first primordial (the thorns chest) in act 9 (ie, somewhere in the low 50s). I’m in legacy, hadn’t played any other characters in this league & the only other character I played was a high lvl character to do the woven echo that guarantees a crystallised heart. I got all the other mats (bones & petals) on the character that I bought the chest for but I was trying to find the rifts in most, but not all, zones. I also missed the first week of the league so if there were any tweaks to increase the drop/spawn rates in the first week I wouldn’t have experienced the older/lower rates.

So to say that you won’t be able to get enough bones in the first 1-3 characters is absolutely wrong. You may not wish to do anything other than zoom through the campaign/mono zones but if you choose to ignore the side stuff that gives you the mats then that’s your choice.

I’m not sure, the campaign is pretty easy & you can run through it without much difficulty, speed runners can get through it in 1-2 hours, so I don’t think the devs have an issue with people getting through it “too quickly”.

If you’re rushing through a zone & ignoring side content that gives you the currency to get a thing you want then getting through the zone fast is clearly more important to you than the thing, which is fine, but you can’t then complain about not having the currency to buy the thing since you made the conscious decision to not get the currency.

If your build is struggling with the campaign then that’s a build issue which is a separate conversation, potentially related to the zooming through the campaign if you’re not upgrading your gear, but otherwise could be a balance issue.
