Primalist Ice Thorns delay, and strange node

I just noticed this today after the patch, I honestly do not recall having this kind of delay. I made a quick little video showing it. I find the delay super strange, however you can continue to cast this which after the first delay, isn’t really delayed anymore… I read a similar post about some shield adding a delay… I do have the thorn shield node, but it doesn’t mention anything about causing a delay, only that the shield grants armor and cold protection 1 second after releasing…

So next point is IMO a strange node which is connected to thorn shield towards the bottom left called second nature “Ice thorns is now instant cast, but has a 4 second cool down” why would anyone want that node? It doesn’t seem like any kind of upgrade… Isn’t that just adding a 4 second cooldown which would seem worst than a 1 second delay from wherever the existing delay is coming from… It seems like about a 1 second delay. Is this second nature node correct and the way it was meant to be? I don’t see a reason why anyone would use that.

The delay is caused by the Thorn Shield node, though I can take a look at the wording. If you look next to your character, the thorns form a rotating circle for one second before they’re released.

The Second Nature node is working as intended, though it’s pretty old so maybe it’s under powered. You can use instant cast skills while using another skill, so being able to do 2 attacks at once is definitely a damage increase.
