Primal Hunt | Coming to Last Epoch August 21st

Great, I really like it)

The result of Diablo’s approach is you play 3 days and are done. I went back recently to give it another shake, ran Helltides for 60lvls then went into the bland nightmare dungeons. Maybe if the content was more varied and enjoyable it would work, but D4’s approach as it is has been implemented is a failure. Running the campaign has instead turned into running a single somewhat bland mechanic all the way to nightmare dung.

I’ve always enjoyed “build your own doom” scenarios. Love the primal enemy designs.

I just heard 6 affixes with new t8 affixes and i jumped out of my chair. Really excited to try this all out.

Looks good, excited for another great season

This sounds fantastic! More options on end game weapons rather than the same old double T7 slam (or in my case brick) on exsiting uniques, awesome.

You realize you need that T8 slam to work before you can upgrade it with this system to then do the same slam onto a unique, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, a new mechanic of this style is definitely good, even better when they adjust the former systems a bit accordingly to make it fit properly.

You wouldn’t be able to slam the T8 onto a unique it’s sealed lol

Late in the season now when I have 7777 items being able to slam one into an 8 and then add another 5 would be wicked, I mean it’s really hard as heck to craft quad 7s as it’s all pure luck with a redemption or you just remove a random one and play off a triple but yeah I just want to see 2 seals and 4 opens on a weapon, I reckon it’ll look cool lol

Also curious what the max tier values of the 8s will be like. I think I might be one of the few people who’s actually more excited about new chapters than anything else as well, lol #slu7foracampaigngrind

So could this theoretically work on a set affix that you bump up to T7 with the shuffle as well?

Or are those part of the excluded “non-standard” affixes?

Yes it will work. Kain answered this in the reddit post.

Ahhh, overread that it’s turning into another sealed Affix. Yeah, then ya can’t, absolutely true.

And yes, the max rolls will be very interesting for sure, with it being a sealed method it makes exalteds a lot more valuable as it’s a targeted method this time.

Yeah… one of the good methods from EHG definitely.

Very excited for Primordial uniques and Necro rework and theory crafting up some new builds.

I wonder how obtainable that is, I cannot really judge it
Is this the absolute peak endgame goal or can even “semi-casuals” get this, that run empowered monos at <300 corruption?
Can anyone give an estimate for this based on current impression?

You would craft a T8 affix on an otherwise pretty good item where all the other affixes are decent as well.

Judging from most of my previous crafts all my very good T7 exalted items had between 0 and 20fp left when I was “done”. Usually I use those last few FP to reroll affix ranges a few more times until its done. With this new crafting method I would probably forgoe min maxing roll ranges and craft a T8 affix.

We don’t know the FP cost of the Rune of Evolution, but if its in similar ranges of the other endgame runes I wouldn’t expect to get another T5 affix crafted in place of the open affix for the majority of cases.

So I think most exalted items will end up with a T1, 2, 3 affix and maybe another T1 or 2 regular sealed affix.
Nontheless this is still more potent than what we had previously, especially considering that the T8 craft is deteministic and the already most important affix for your build will become much much more potent.

Lets GOOO! Looking forward to the new cycle

I don’t remember that but ok!! :medal_military:

I want to say something wildly inappropriate here…

The T8 is a sealed affix so it can’t be applied to a legendary.

Thanks for estimation, appreciated!

Another/different question to the devs:

How does the rift beast evolution work in coop/party play?

Does it just pick the instance owner’s to spawn the beast we fight or is it like nemesis and everyone can spawn their own one after another?

I hope this is a change we do get, 1 Exalted and 1 Unique being allowed on at the same time.

Do we know if there are going to be new additions made to the weaver tree for the rift beast mechanic?
