Price check - Bazaar

And yet GGG never bothered creating one. All you have are 3rd party tools. Before awakened poe trade you just checked the poe.trade site (since GGG didn’t even have their own, or it was really inferior) manually.
You can probably price check stuff in the bazaar.

I agree that awakened is a handy tool and I hope EHG provides us with something like this eventually, either in-game or through a 3rd party addon. But I don’t think it will be as big of an issue as it is in PoE, since trade in LE won’t have the same weight it does there.

The likely scenario is someone will develop a scraping tool that will either be community or bot sourced to record prices of items on the bazaar for a website lookup on prices of items.

I believe EHG has said they have no plans to allow for an API or an in game price checking tool for the bazaar. They would really like players to interact with the bazaar in game probably.

Personally I think it’ll just be a matter of time til we get a third party tool to achieve price checking while in monoliths.

The only reason you get those tool in PoE is because GGG provided an API for that. If EHG doesn’t provide one, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get a 3rd party one, at least one that’s even decently reliable.

I’d be happy to have my eldest do thus manually, he needs a job & this might teach him why it was important to spend more time on his studies & less on manga/anime/crappy-phone games.

I guess the question that remains is: is he decently reliable?

Erm, sure? Enough for a game, certainly.

Trading is restricted to the bazaar, so price checking outside of it is not probable.

But I hope an easier way to price check will be introduced eventually, because it goes along the main LE concepts, which is:

Clicking through UI to search for items is not killing enemies (our wrists are not our enemies), so I expect for some convenience to be added to reduce the amount of clicks and the time spent at the stall. Like clicking on an item mod or clicking on a unique name to add them to the stall search filter.

But maybe favor will be balanced in a way, that we won’t be able to sell many items, and occasional price checking of high LP uniques and T7/some T6 exalteds will be enough.

They have stated abit about this in this thread, that they won’t release API of any sort. That’s why I decided to spread awareness about this feature not being in the game or not coming either through community tool. I feel like this is going to upset alot of the trading player base. It will take to long to find value on items and list em right.

By “a long time”, I assume you mean, a few seconds to do the search yourself?

I am not a trade person so take my oppinion on this with a grain of salt.

BUT

I feel like something like a price check should not be implemented.
The ability to judge if an item is good or potentially worth something is a skill in itself.
I am not a fan of giving the player too powerful tools like this.

If something like this is implemented in any way, this should at least not be accessable while being out in the field and playing teh game, it should only be accessable while at the bazaar.

I feel like there should be a player skill curve to judging items and learning what is good and what not is a skill that people should learn by being forced to use it. This might be a worse expereicne for some people at first but at least they are forced ot engage with their own loot and not check some prices by the click fo a button.

This is very simialr to blindly followign abuild guide and actually not know why or how something work the way it does.

You learn by doing something.

I assume this already exists. After all, you do have to search for stuff you want and that’s all price checking is: checking similar stuff and comparing prices.
OP and others are just asking for a way to do this outside the bazaar while playing, kinda like awakened poe trade tool does.

I’ll admit that awakened poe trade is a really useful tool, but PoE’s trade system is a different beast from LE’s. I don’t know if it will be as relevant in LE as it is in PoE.

That is always the case. Just because you have a tool which would easily tell you how much items are listed for doesn’t mean that that is a reasonable approximation of their value. If the first person to list a particular unique put it up for 1 million gold, doesn’t mean that that is the value of said unique.

Why?

Because if we can’t check the prices on stuff we want to buy, trade will be more like a puzzle/mistery game? :joy:

Unique or Set items are not what I was talking about.

i was talking about Rares and Exalted Items, because there will be a huge variety in hwo certain things are priced.

Hm, yes, that was actually my point. @Heavy was saying he hoped there wouldn’t be a price check feature in the game and I was saying that one most likely exists in the Bazaar, which is how we will search for items and check their prices.

That wasn’t the point, I only said “unique” because it was the first thing that popped into my mind.

If the first person to list a particular thing put it up for 1 million gold, doesn’t mean that that is the value of said thing.

Is that better?

No it doesn’t matter, for Rares and Exalted Items it will be quite rare to have identical items with identical rolls.

When you are at the bazaar and checkign for simialr things seeing people prices can be a hint but as you said can also be not very useful.

But that brings me back to my original point. You should learn these thigns over time, because in the grand scheme of things some singular overprices or underpriced items will not matter that much.

agree, they did it very well

What’s stopping you from doing that right now? I do it before listing any item for sale. Works fine.
