Price check - Bazaar

Will there be a pricechecking feature for the Baazar? I’m not talking about us getting the ability to do things like poe is doing with their tradetools. More in the line of what Torchlight infinite is doing with their auction house and the items there. There you can just search for items with stats like the item you are tying to sell and see if there is a item listed and try to determine a price for your item that way.

I would imagine any price check “feature” like that is basically seeing what else is on the market that’s comparable to your own item. Like we do in PoE. Never having played Torchlight Infinite, I have no idea what/how they do it.

Have they said anything about this anywhere?

Not that I’m aware of but I dont see all their posts/streams/etc.

I really hope there will be some king of pricechecking tool. Right now it seems, that the only way to check price is go to the bazaar stall and manually set the search filters. At least being able to add those filters by clicking on item stats would save a lot of clicks.

It’s quite likely that that is all that there will be. Even in PoE, price checkers are 3rd party or just you manually searching the trade page.

That’s exactly the same process someone would use to buy the item, so why wouldn’t that be a thing you can do as someone who wants to sell it?

What you do is search the Bazaar for a similar item by entering details in the search fields(this is what buyers will see when looking for your item). So that you can see what people price it at.

In-game price checking would be great for the convenience of not having to hoard items to take to the bazaar; but I’m sure at some point we will all have a rough idea of what affix tiers/items will be worthless or not.

Edit: Also, this is my first post. Any idea how long it takes for supporter pack badges to show up? I purchased a few days ago.

I feel like they have worked so hard on getting trade and the new SSF system in the game, that they managed somehow to forget the biggest quality of life feature for trade out there. Trade being launched without any sort of pricecheck tool or feature, that’s gonna hurt the trade aspect of the game a lot. I do remember those days wayyy back in poe when we didn’t have awakened poe trade and those tools. That was a nightmare. Not having this feature, people are gonna go ham.

And yet GGG never bothered creating one. All you have are 3rd party tools. Before awakened poe trade you just checked the poe.trade site (since GGG didn’t even have their own, or it was really inferior) manually.
You can probably price check stuff in the bazaar.

I agree that awakened is a handy tool and I hope EHG provides us with something like this eventually, either in-game or through a 3rd party addon. But I don’t think it will be as big of an issue as it is in PoE, since trade in LE won’t have the same weight it does there.

The likely scenario is someone will develop a scraping tool that will either be community or bot sourced to record prices of items on the bazaar for a website lookup on prices of items.

I believe EHG has said they have no plans to allow for an API or an in game price checking tool for the bazaar. They would really like players to interact with the bazaar in game probably.

Personally I think it’ll just be a matter of time til we get a third party tool to achieve price checking while in monoliths.

The only reason you get those tool in PoE is because GGG provided an API for that. If EHG doesn’t provide one, it’s highly unlikely you’ll get a 3rd party one, at least one that’s even decently reliable.

I’d be happy to have my eldest do thus manually, he needs a job & this might teach him why it was important to spend more time on his studies & less on manga/anime/crappy-phone games.

I guess the question that remains is: is he decently reliable?

Erm, sure? Enough for a game, certainly.

Trading is restricted to the bazaar, so price checking outside of it is not probable.

But I hope an easier way to price check will be introduced eventually, because it goes along the main LE concepts, which is:

Clicking through UI to search for items is not killing enemies (our wrists are not our enemies), so I expect for some convenience to be added to reduce the amount of clicks and the time spent at the stall. Like clicking on an item mod or clicking on a unique name to add them to the stall search filter.

But maybe favor will be balanced in a way, that we won’t be able to sell many items, and occasional price checking of high LP uniques and T7/some T6 exalteds will be enough.

They have stated abit about this in this thread, that they won’t release API of any sort. That’s why I decided to spread awareness about this feature not being in the game or not coming either through community tool. I feel like this is going to upset alot of the trading player base. It will take to long to find value on items and list em right.

By “a long time”, I assume you mean, a few seconds to do the search yourself?

I am not a trade person so take my oppinion on this with a grain of salt.

BUT

I feel like something like a price check should not be implemented.
The ability to judge if an item is good or potentially worth something is a skill in itself.
I am not a fan of giving the player too powerful tools like this.

If something like this is implemented in any way, this should at least not be accessable while being out in the field and playing teh game, it should only be accessable while at the bazaar.

I feel like there should be a player skill curve to judging items and learning what is good and what not is a skill that people should learn by being forced to use it. This might be a worse expereicne for some people at first but at least they are forced ot engage with their own loot and not check some prices by the click fo a button.

This is very simialr to blindly followign abuild guide and actually not know why or how something work the way it does.

You learn by doing something.
