This is the build for Kickstarter! A few last minute tweaks…


  • Increased the damage reduction incurred by veteran difficulty at higher levels.
  • Reduced the damage taken increase incurred by veteran difficulty at higher levels, while increasing it slightly at lower levels.
  • Increased the damage reduction incurred by masochist difficulty at all levels.
  • Reduced the damage taken increase incurred by masochist difficulty at higher levels, while increasing it slightly at lower levels.
  • A wandering blacksmith now appears with the barrels in the arena, you can buy items from him and sell him items for gold, just like the blacksmith in the town
  • The Void Knight now starts with a shield
  • Devmode is now activated with tab D (alt caused problems occasionally)


  • Added a new unique sword
  • Uniques now sell for 1000 gold (but why would you…)
  • Fractured items now sell for 50% less
  • Reduced item and gold drop rate


  • Nerfed Tempest (<3)
    • Reduces your movement speed by 20%, up from 15%
    • Costs 10 mana to start, up from 5
    • Applies added damage at 35% effectiveness, down from 40%
    • Increased area nodes grant 20% increased area, down from 30%
  • Volatile Reversal has a base cooldown of 25 seconds, up from 12
  • Devouring Orb grows by 12% per cast, down from 25%
  • Reduced the melee damage dealt by Entangling Roots initial hit by 25%
  • Increased the mana cost of entangling roots to 50
  • Void rifts deal 30% less damage
  • The void rift nodes on the volatile reversal tree no longer increase its mana cost
  • The cooldown reduction on kill node on the volatile reversal tree now recovers 3% of its cooldown per point, down from 5% per point
  • Ravaging Aura now lasts 20 seconds (from 10) and scales with spell damage
  • Renamed second Vale Barrage node in Summon Spriggan tree to Vale Assault


  • Added new sounds for Abyssal Orb, Anomaly, Devouring Orb, Erasing Strikes, Hammer Throw, Ravaging Aura, Shield Rush, Sunder, and Tempest
  • Added new music for Breir's Watch/Breirhold and The Arena


  • Added new pulsing borders to draw the eye more to available skill and passive nodes
  • Added new borders to key and root nodes in augment trees
  • Improved clarity of damage increases in the Character Sheet
  • Clarified the scaling of Tempest and Ravaging Aura on their tooltips
  • Made the "start next wave" button slightly smaller
  • The specialise button now pulses

Level Design

  • The fire on waypoints now only appears while the waypoints are active


  • Enemies in the arena have health scaling of 20%, up from 15%
  • Enemies in the arena now grant 3% more experience at higher levels
  • Increased the delay of Volatile Bristlemaw explosions to 1.5 second, from 1

Bug Fixes

  • Autosort is fixed and actually fixes all ghosted item situations (still technically doesn’t sort)
  • Fixed charged ground occasionally spawning at incorrect locations
  • Potentially fixed some cases of enemies getting stuck in the arena
  • Fixed the navmesh being slightly bumpy in places in The Square
  • Fixed Ice Ward’s tooltip being inaccurate
  • Fixed the cooldown recovery speed node on the Elemental Nova tree had no effect
  • Fixed bug where essences would not be tracked, causing Void Knight passive grid node Consumption not to work
  • Comparison tooltips no longer remain open at incorrect times
  • Comparison tooltips no longer fail to update when you hover over a different item
  • Comparison tooltips now display all stats correctly
  • Fixed a bug where you could use the stash to dupe items
  • Actually fixed the bug where summons persist after you return to character select
  • Fixed a typo with the "of the chalice" suffix
  • NPCs in the town now correctly show their outlines when you mouse over them

There were a few issues with this build so we’re put out a hotfix, A few small additions also made their way in.


  • Reduced Mourningfrost’s added cold damage from 5 to 2


  • Nerfed Corrupted Statues
  • Added a mini-boss to the Temple

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed throwing attacks having an incorrect tag
  • Fixed some nodes having incorrect positions and images
  • Fixed a bug where essences were not tracked (again)
  • Fixed some tooltip flicker
  • Fixed a quality settings issue
  • Fixed a rounding error on comparison tooltips
