Pre-allocation of passive points

Could we get a build planner option in game… eg: I can add all of the points to my build ahead of time and they unlock in the order spent?

If you added some kind of “sensational floaty text popup (with timeout)” it would also give the game a anime feel  :nerd: kinda like “your blah blah blah has gained 8% more damage” or “your now 20% more awesome”

I don’t know if I would like to have auto-allocation of the points. I would much rather have something like in TL:I where you can load some build and it will show you what points you want to allocate next, but you still have to do it yourself and you can “go off-script” if you want.

Definitely wouldn’t like anime-style popups. Would feel very jarring given LE’s aesthetics.

Sounds like an option for MTX to me!

Well I dont think I was clear, this feature of course would be optional. Also being able to change it would be simple a “clear/reset” button. The button would only reset the “plan” and not the points spent (we already have that button )

MOST of my characters are now designed on LE tools (learned about it from Grim Dawn, pleasantly carried over). So I have a pretty good idea about what I want to do, going in. Besides I dont know how many times I’ve wanted a character planning tool IN THE GAME im playing. I really think design and theory crafting / experimenting is a WAY to play. Lastly this change would offer those HC-pro-leet-gamers a way to streamline their initial rank-up, something this game has been catering to from the start.

I did understand your post and your intention. I’m not disagreeing with the general suggestion (other than the anime popup), I’m just not sure if I agree with allocating the points automatically or simply doing it like TL:I does, which is to show you where your points would go but you still need to allocate them manually.

I think most players would simply load a build and have it be automatically filled and not really understand what is happening. Whereas if they allocate them manually, even seeing what they should place next so they don’t have to think too much about it, will at least let them know what they’re adding and will let them learn the game a bit.

Yeah I see your point. I am admittedly rather disconnected from what “most people” would do. Automation and hand-holding doesn’t lend itself to “capturing imagination”. “Just put another plank on the character mill” its a shame how even the most innocuous things can be abused.
