Potential memory leak while trying to load into corrupted lake portal at imperial era to ruined era portal by way of The Risen Lake. Crashed with win 10 error window twice while loading into it. Watched resource manager and it brought it far more then standard memory and increased slowly until i hard quit.
Could definitely be possible⦠but this also sounds similar to the crashes people are getting depending on their graphic settings.
Hello, I noticed something similar yesterday (running on Steam/Linux).
When I looked into it, just loading the game allocates around 10GB of ram, and running through a zone (The Sheltered woods) eats away 200MB.
Loading into The Surface eats away another 300MB and doesnāt flush much of the previous zone (around 100MB) and getting into The Forsaken Trail eats another 500MB and clears about 100MB.
This goes on until my system freezes.
It takes several hours, but something is definitely wrong.

Hey, Welcome to the forumsā¦
Please can you post your system information and game logs. The devs are going to need this info when they see this post.
There obviously could be a memory leak - until the devs confirm this, we have no way to be 100% sure as there are too many other factors involved at the same time. For example, stability in the game in its current form seems to be more graphical than memory.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You are also using Linux so its very important to differentiate that from Windows users. Anyone else reading this must be aware of this difference.
Since getting involved in another thread about a potential memory, leak, I have been monitoring my own play on Windows and have noticed that on my 16gb system, LE will rapidly take about 10.5gb of ram and then fluctuate between that and 12.5gb⦠Sometimes it will settle in town back down in the 10 range, other times it will stay at 11 -12 and then after another MoF will drop back down to the 10 range. I have been actively āwatchingā the RAM usage over 3h+ game sessions to see what happens and on my setup, it does climb and it does āseemā like it isnt releasing memory but then I will run one more MoF and we are back down to 10gb.
It could be that the memory leak is much more pronounced on Linux.
Did you post this as an observation about memory specifically or where you trying to resolve an instability problem originally? Reason I ask, is that the instability problems seem to happen on all platforms and are usually graphic settings related.
Edited my previous response to fit the sys-panel after one hour of gameplay (almost filled the whole ram) and attached logs, as requested.
Just went investigating after the second freeze I got.
Performance is okish, considering itās beta and latency is a little high.
Thanks for adding the infoā¦
I have no way of testing or suggesting anything re the memory side on Linux⦠Someone else using linux or the devs will have to chip in on thisā¦
Re your performance⦠Your system is slightly older/slower than mine⦠i5-7500/1060/16gb and I run on the absolute lowest in-game settings at 1080p/60fps purely for stability and to get a decent framerate of between 40-60fps 80-90% of the time with 20fps during busy moments. I honestly cannot notice the difference in visual quality vs higher settings and the accompanying lower fps - especially in the heat of battle⦠so I just settled on performance & stability. Obviously up to you, but Iād recommend you run at similar settings - especially with your memory issue making things worse.
Iāll fiddle around with the configuration, maybe things will settle or Iāll get some more play-time out of it.
Just wanted to make the issue known.
Thanks for the quick reply.
So, I got to fiddle around with the graphic settings, and you were right, lowering settngs helped.
With this config the memory leak is almost imperceptible, can play for 4+ hours without problems of sorts.
