I will most probably be playing duo when the game launches, and with the new resonances, I’d like to be able to see items that would be beneficial to whoever is in my party. Is there a way to easily synchronize/update our filters so that we both see items for eachother, however I don’t have to manage my friend’s loot filter everytime he would like me to change it (and vice versa)?
Sorry if I don’t understand how party play and loot works, it’s just when I saw resonators I figured I wouldn’t use them much unless I change my loot filter to show items good for other builds.
Merging separate filters would be a problem because of rule order being important. To have this work in-game, there would probably have to be some means of everyone in the party sharing a single filter file. Since these files are stored on your local machine, I don’t see this being likely.
That said, the opportunity is there for a 3rd party filter building and sharing tool, though this would really only add some automation features. As is, you could chat with the party while one person builds the filter in game with everyone’s ideas, then share the xml file to everyone out of game for them to import. A website for this would just add the convenience of skipping the manual file sharing step.
I guess you could sync your filter folder to an online shared storage location, then anyone with access could update the filter and just ping the party “hey, import the filter again.” Or maybe the sync would take care of that automatically, depending on file permissions on your local machine.
This is making me wonder now: if this would technically work where friends and I are all syncing our filter folder to shared online storage, so anyone updating filters updates everyone’s… would this violate anything about the game client or ToS or anything?
