Possible design flaw? Farming Evolution's End

Hi all! I’ve been trying to find an Evolution’s End amulet with a nice +2 skills and 2LP roll. It’s (sorta) fun chasing it. I’ve already had a 2LP one (but only +1 skills) and vice versa. Recently I did a woven echo to get another weaver point, however this echo increases the max evolution of a rift beast from 4 to 7 (!!). So now it takes a LOT longer to reach the end of a lineage in order to get a chance at a nice Evolution’s End. It feels like I’m being punished for doing a woven echo, increasing my weaver points. Is this intended? Am I missing something? I get that the rift beast that spawns will be stronger, but honestly that mechanic feels extremely underwhelming anyway. Either the boss is already dead by the time the spawn animation finishes or the boss has killed me.

Is there any way to reverse this change? I have already tried ending a lineage at 4 evolutions, but no Evolution’s End dropped sadly :frowning:

I was thinking about this as well. it seems like this maybe should have been a node in the Weaver tree kinda like the farming the Shade of Oreos node. Or maybe they just wanted it to be a PITA, who knows… heh.

But why not end the lineage after the 1st evolution cycle thu? if you only care about the stats on the amulet, just end the lineage after the 1st egg, you are able to end the lineage at anytime, but the question is will the item dropped have better or worse stats if the lineage was ended earlier than it should? Also will it be a guaranteed drop after only ending it post the 1st evolution ?

It’s a choice, really. If you want to farm evolution’s end, then you won’t run that woven echo until you get the amulet you want.
If you want to farm everything else, then you take it, since more evolutions give you better chances of the rift beast dropping one of the random primordials and with better chances for LP.

So it’s not a punishment. It’s giving you other rewards instead.
With the change to reduce rift beast spawns in between rift area spawn, you should end lineages faster anyway.

Evolution’s end only drops at the end of the lineage with maximum evolutions. If you end the lineage earlier, it won’t drop.

I assume the additional evolutions from that woven echo apply to all characters (that have access to the same stash, obviously)? I would assume so since all characters get the weaver tree points.

This is incorrect. Even if you don’t touch the Woven Echo, the amount of evolutions in a lineage will still increase up to 6.

Quote from the patch notes, emphasis mine:

So the increase was always intended.

Almost certainly. Like unlocking the Void Nemesis applies to all characters sharing the same stash.

That sentence can actually have more than 1 meaning.
One being that completing a lineage will increase the max to 5 and then to 6 and completing the woven echo will being it to 7.
The other being that if you have completed 2 lineages and the woven echo, it will go up to 7, but only when both conditions are met.

So unless either someone tests this or a dev chimes in to clarify, that sentence doesn’t really clear it up.

I’m not going off solely that sentence in the patch notes, but the fact that my lineage had 5 evolutions before I touched the monolith

PS: We can always use Aaron as our proof.

Yeah all of my lineages are 6 now, and I haven’t done the woven echo yet. And I remember the first time I did the rift beast, it was max 4 evolutions. Then it was max 5 the next time. And now every time since then it’s 6. And it will never be less than 6 apparently.
If I do the woven echo, it will increase to 7. So yes it will take longer to farm the amulet, but not that much longer

I have not done the woven echo and I have 6 Lineages. So I would assume it’s the first of your two choices.

I reckon the evolutions end unique should have a greater chance of having 4LP when ending a lineage at 7 to compensate for the time it takes to even get there in the long run. (even though ending a lineage at the respective max evolution each time is a guaranteed drop, but not the LP that rolls with it as it is random as intended.)

but considering how easy (especially for circle of fortune travelers.) it is to get 3LP for it…
but that’s just me spitballin as I haven’t got enough knowledge in terms of usage (only pondering) to make a proper evaluation of it’s use case scenario.
