In a few days it will be like (almost, hopefully) like the very first day again.
As much as the patch has to fofer, it will not be quite like that. Most of the fundamentals are still the same, especailyl during the campaign there is mostly only the new champion enemies.
The majoity of additions are at the high top end, during endgame.
I would also recommend that, unless you want to compete on the leaderboards, that you DON’T start a cycle character and just roll with legacy versions. There is currently no real reason (content wise) to play cycle as legacy will get all the same stuff, but without the drawbacks of having to start fresh.

Oh no, please. Don’t enforce people to go play legacy just before a new cycle arrives…
Unless they’re playing CoF or SSF, there’s ALL reasons to play Cycle instead of that ghostcity inflated market legacy is.
After alerting signal all 1.1.7 stalls will fall into the mist of Silent Hi…emmhm into legacy MG 
But you are right, it could be difficult to start in MG. 0 gold items for beginners, good 10k idols, some 25-100k stuff… and then BAM 45m for t7 smite exalted relic

He’s not, it’s an entirely reasonable suggestion. He even says why (no new season specific content). The player is entirely able to decide for themselves as to whether they do or not. No enforcement is present.
Also a fair point. It’s almost as if there are two sides to this…
