PoE1 next league is delayed to March 2026 -- a potential hit to LE?

A few days ago, it was announced that the next league of PoE1 will be delayed to early March 2026.

This is, however, quite close to the next cycle of LE as per announced by EHG in their roadmap.

LE needs to be so well-prepared or it is going to be swept hard!
PoE1 3.28 is going to be an expansion, which means it is likely to be big content. LE, ye be warned.

We know.

PoE1 3.28 is not an “expansion” with any more content than the leagues before. It’s a regular league like each 4 months.

That…is not a delay. It is the exact time it should be released.

Why do people try to make drama out of everything that is nothing special and was expected already?

Did you even read the announcement? It was not a delay, merely a confirmation of what was to be expected already.

Also 3.28 is not an expansion. GGG said they want to expand the Memory Tears, Zana and Eagon storyline over the course of the next patches and not do the entire rework of the atlas like they used to do with other expansions.

While EHG still needs to deliver obviously there is nothing here that is out of the ordinary or unexpected. Even as a outside observer. Even less so if EHG and GGG do communicate like it was suggested by EHG.

If PoE releases on March 6th it is way more time then previously and even with a March 13th release it is still a week longer than the last PoE2 and LE patch.

Because drama’s exciting.

More like creating drama allows them to vent and rage their IRL frustrations into something.

Drama out of spite is relatively rare.
More likely to be thrill-seeking or attention-based action, those are the 2 common ones.

I didn’t say out of spite. I said the equivalent of “I’m pissed off with something in my life, so this thing which I would normally ignore now enrages me and I’ll vent at it to feel better”.

Catharsis.

Yeah, that’s a form of spite.

To do onto someone else what has been done to one (‘I received stress so I cause stress now!’ is the absolute basis there) is a spite-driven thing. Power has been taken away from you so you take some form of power by removing the enjoyment of another person. That’s what venting is. It’s a form of taking back control.
The spite is not directed at the target itself, it’s directed at the position, so you shift the position of power between you and someone to balance out the bad outcome from before.

Yep, basically. Which is returning to a emotional balance. To retake control in some form. Catharsis is always forceful after all… be it towards others or inanimate things like a pillow, a punching bag or the damn sky :stuck_out_tongue:

I see what you mean, but that’s not how I meant it.

I meant it in the “therapy” sense (not a particularly positive one, but one nonetheless). The person isn’t out to hurt others. They’re just doing the internet equivalent of going to the gym and hitting a punching bag.

They feel the need to hit it and they don’t want to do it alone, so they’re basically shouting “Hey everyone, look at this punching bag. Doesn’t it just make you want to hit it?”.

That was how I meant it.
Of course, there are those that will do it out of spite in the sense you described.
There are even those that will do it because they don’t like the game (PoE in this case) and are trying to get others to raise their pitchforks (although that could still be argued to be spite in your sense of the word).

Not always. Simply forgiving someone can be cathartic. Or accepting something. Or having something good replace that feeling (like a newborn).
