For example, Armageddon from the Black Hole skill tree casts Meteor every second. But does it benefit from the Meteor skilltree? I haven’t played too much, but I believe there was a Primalist skill passive that DOES benefit from the skilltree. It’s just too vague now.
Just add a very simple sentence to all these skill-casting passives:
‘Does not benefit from X-skilltree’ or ‘Benefits from X-skilltree’
It does, I specialised VO & took the cold conversion node & the VO that Flame Rush cast was cold. I also spec’d to Explosive Ground & almost immediately went OOM when casting Flame Rush due to the mana cost that VO had.
If it’s a skill that can go on your skill bar, it always benefits from the skill tree, though not every node is applied to proc’s, such as Smite’s Descend node.
Hmm ok, then it’s bugged. Because it doesn’t cast any shrapnel.
I wonder why it is specifically mentioned in some other skills that it benefits from the skill tree though. It makes it so vague.
I still think it should just be mentioned, or at least be added to the game guide.
Shrapnel is not a VO, it is a subskill. It is a VO procs shrapnel (explosive ground, explosive orb and fire glyph), not a FR
All modifiers to speed, area etc on VO will work on FR, as we have “benefits” here, not “proc” or casts, triggers etc (sometimes with For 80% of its mana cost or something like that).
And “procs” are real deal, with full skill tree. Example
Skill 1 (all)/critical/rares’n’boss hits has a 15% chance to proc skill 2.
Except those nodes (speaking about skill 2) with “direrect cast” notifications. Only casting skill 2 will work for them, no procs from skill 1 or skill N
Ah ok, thanks for clearing it up. I’m gonna respec VO in that case
Is there anywhere in the game guide that this is stated? Think it should be mentioned somewhere, because it’s not very obvious that this is how it works.
