Hello Guys, as i tried to make a beastmaster i realized that it is nearly impossible to get enough resistances and life on my equipment, because there are far too many needed shards on prefixe slots (set dodge, minion health, set glancing blow and all set protections) so i would like to suggest to change the set protection shards to suffix slots.
Or just remove glancing blow altogether and leave crit strike avoid in. Balancing the game around 50% damage reduction is too obvious a stat imo. Nothing compares to it on any level and armor/resistances should be your go to stuff.
While this is not the original topic i do disagree. Other games balance around reaching some sort of resist cap. LE has a different approach. While most common way to cap GB is set affixes there are several other ways to cap it.
I do like having defensive “hard caps” in any form. It gives you some sense of goal.
Now to the original topic. ALL Set affixes are prefixes, which is kinda the mechanic in some way, because usually the “normal” defensive stuff is suffix.
Having different set affixes on prefixes AND suffixes would be pretty imbalanced in the current state i would say.
Protections are just a secondary defense layer in this game, together with dodge and health.
You should not be able to easily get all of those high.
There are already potentially enough slots to bring many set affixes to ridiculous values.
It is hard yes, but that should be like that.
The set affixes being prefixes are there to reduce the number of damage prefixes a player can take. So while they could halve the outgoing damage & remove glancing blow completely, then the player’s dps would increase because they can now take more damage prefixes.
