Please let us reconnect into Woven Echoes

I swear to god this pissed me off so much. I just did a crafting woven echo. After spending the time to do the cemetery to place it, then do the echo, while I was looking through my stash for the items I wanted to craft, I lost connection to the server. When I reconnected literally seconds later I was out of the echo and lost the reward.

This is the kind of reason I usually don’t like playing online and I super regret the decision to do it this season. Considering I have to spend a scarce resource to do these echoes in the first place, would it be too much to ask for this shit to have a failsafe?

Curiously, Diablo4 ran into a remotely similar problem with their boss keys…

Their solution was to make it so that the boss-key is not required to spawn the boss… only to open the boss’ loot chest. So even failing the boss did not consume the key…

Technically this problem exists in temporal sanctum as well… Spending a key to enter santum and then getting D/Ced halfway througuh means your key is consumed without being able to finish the boss or the Eternity Cache.

I don’t think this is a huge problem, as I dont experience many disconnects… but bugs and disconnects already feel bad for wasting our time… it’s even worse when they waste finite resources… and “reaching a woven echo tomb” is a pretty annoying resource to squander.

How about this solution:

Whenever these machine-uses are awarded, award a “usage key” for each use earned… Make the machine consume the usage key on use… If the player disconnects or doesn’t use the reward right then… then let right-clicking the key give them a teleport to a room with the machine, so they can use it.

For woven the woven echo map placement, it would be pretty neat if once we unlocked the woven echo map device in a timeline, we could “reuse it”… aka, right-click on a woven echo token and get a portal back to the map device we already found/used… rather than having to find another one… late game this wouldn’t matter, but early in learning about echos I had no idea what to do with that machine, and only later realized I “missed my chance” to place a bunch of echos.

This doesn’t fix the issue of dungeon keys being consumed during a d/c but it at least fixes the machine uses.

In general I dislike having to do the crafting IN the echo in the first place, so the idea of just having a key to let you do the crafting whenever would be super nice.

That’s why I love the fact that this game allows us to play offline. On a side note, i was playing POE2 and got really pissed off because of the many deaths I used to have due to server lag, losing hours of exp on their fault. In LE I have exactly 0 DCs or lag as all depends on my pc specs. Good old school game that works without having to be connected all the time.

Yeah. I’ll probably go back to offline only after this batch of characters. I just wish they’d allow the cosmetics in offline mode. Even when I’m happy with the game I can’t give them money for continued development because I don’t like online play. This was the first season I bought anything after the initial purchase a long time ago and I almost immediately regretted it.
