I’ll start with a short introduction. I’m a casual player, but I like being good at what I do and seeing the results. I like numbers and improving their value. When I play, improving my character even every 10 minutes by changing an item to get better results (even 0.1%!) gives me a lot of fun.
I’ve been playing LE since the start, I even bought a preorder I’ve been waiting for this game impatiently. Because I’m a fan of the genre since Diablo I.
In LE I tried to play different classes. From regular melee to runemaster. You can see the difference in damage everywhere when you change an item. There is also the possibility of focusing on a specific element or play style and it’s easy to progress.
But… there’s no such option if we play with companions (minions, ballista). My favorite classes are summoners and I have a great fondness for the trap assassin from Diablo 2 LoD (BIG NUMBERS <3). I wanted to try playing a druid on totems, but so far it didn’t satisfy me. Now I’m trying Falconer with Ballista. At first it’s fun - but as you know, I love upgrading damage and seeing numbers - there’s none of that here, it doesn’t show how much damage the ballista deals. I know I should focus on minion’s damage, but also on dexterity and intelligence (depending on items). When swapping items I have to go outside and look at the damage rising, which is VERY weak and annoying, because this damage has a large range. Let’s say it’s a jump like 700-800-900, there’s no way to see the difference in damage if I swap an item that differs, for example, by 10% to minion damage. Ballistas have also been seriously weakened this season, Elixir Of Construction now gives a total bonus of 45% to damage, and before it gave 100%. It’s very hard to upgrade my build during the game. I don’t usually use ready-made builds, because I really like building something myself and seeing that it works well, here, it doesn’t give me much pleasure.
So, I ask you to start working on implementing “visible” damage to summons into the game. It really will improve the quality of life and fun of the game and improving builds of this type. Just look at the loot filters database, what a small percentage of players play summons. And I won’t mention ballistae because they don’t exist… and they got a big nerf from you.
I believe that something can be done about it to make the game better and to be able to see changes in damage when changing items.
