Please, fix the moonwalk character movent issue

Hello,

I already asked this to be fixed before 1.0, but unfortunately it has not been and because one fellow forum user just mentioned it in different topic, I have to bring this to EHG again.

If you haven’t noticed, whenever you hold your cursor over your character, the character starts to moonwalk.

This, for me, is a big immersion breaking issue and should be finally looked into. Maybe add a dead zone in which the character will not move if you move your cursor too close to your character. No other ARPG has this issue and to me, it screams ‘‘lack of polish’’

When I play, I am holding the mouse button to move, I don’t click, and therefor I see this clunky movement fairly often.

I am sure, many users/player on the forums, do not care about this and I will receive replies as ‘‘who cares’’ or ‘‘there are worse issues’’ but I think that character movement should be something 100% flawless, it is a fundamental, and if the new player notice this, they will immidiately think the game is clunky.

Thank you

EDIT: This issue was supposed to be fixed 2 years ago:

This is not a ‘who cares’ post.

In over 1k hours, I have never noticed that behaviour, so I just tried to replicate it, and yes, it is there.

I hold down the mouse button as well when moving longer distances, but I never hold it so close to my character.

A dead zone sounds like a decent band-aid.

Yeah, this was reported quite some time ago, at least once. The devs are aware of it but I think it’s just low priority as they have much bigger things to fix first.

Tried this out and it does indeed do that lol! Can we leave it and add emotes to make it do a moonwalk too?

I remember testing this when I saw it on the Steam Forums and it’s definitely there and needs fixed, I’m just so confused at how anyone found this lol. I’m at half the playtime as HorusKBZ and have never experienced it naturally and probably never would

It is very easy to notice.

I don’t move by clicking a mouse button over and over. I move by holding the mouse button all the time and just moving the cursor (used to it from MMOs) and by doing that you often hover over your character when you want to run to the other side and at that point you start moonwalking.

I mean, we can also not add any endgame content and whenever you complete a monolith, there would be a pop-up with hamster wheel

My cursor races over the screen, I have to deliberately move very slowly for this to happen ^^

But it is still there  a lot of bugs and issues do not occur 100% of time, but that does not mean it should be ignored.

Cursor sensitivity is probably the difference there.

True, it just means it is a very low-priority issue in a game that has much more important issues, unfortunately.

Probably. I am running my mouse at 3200 dpi at 1 kHz, so not crazy high, but enough to move the courser all over my 21:9 screen with a flick of my wrist.

I do the same mouse movements, but I’ve also been called a “crackhead” with how I whip my mouse around the screen, so when I’m moving it across my character to do a 180 I move it so fast that my character just turns around without moonwalking.

I am confused what happened to the fix that was promised 2 years ago @Moxjet200

Uff 2years ago, doesnt surprise me. Game has so many of these things that are small (doesnt break the game) but so annoying that gives game so low quality feeling.

Dont know if the coming unity engine update would give more tools to tackle this problem.

These things are one of the reason i cant recommend this game to my friends.

Because there is more polished ARPG’s put there and LE its like you want to test subject mentality people who wants to write tickets to EHG

One of my friend tested game and gave me like 10 fixes for bug reporting before he even fighted that Osbrix ”semi boss” at the wall , before you met old man (keeper)

Agree that this needs to be fixed. When you notice it, you get the feeling of an early alpha game. It’s just not acceptable to have such weird behavior in a fully released game

That is EXACTLY my issue/point.
I have noticed it and can not unsee it anymore. Every time I play the game now, I am wondering why the game is still not in alpha.
