Lagon has confusing telegraphs and the beam sometimes is cast in a certain position that makes it so you are not going to dodge it.
Fair enough, I thought you were going to say something about the two types of eye beam he does.
In my (limited experience with Lagon), his sweeping eye beam is based on where you are when he starts the animation. You were on the right-side of the ledge when he started it so he was going to go right. The whole left/right wiggle thing he did was weird, certainly. But if you’re on one side of the ledge when he does his sweeping eye beam then run over to the other side you should be ok.
I certainly killed this awful boss more than once to know how it works and i get what you mean but i still think that it has been setup wrongly and the player should not have to be working around the issue, hence i’m posting video evidence that: "the beam sometimes is cast in a certain position that makes it so you are not going to dodge it"
My pov here is that whatever you move he shouldnt be shooting a unavoidable beam like that, and that it needs a FIX

as I believe this may be caused by Anomaly.
I’m not sure he used Anomaly on Lagon though. I’ve just been levelling a Void Knight & used Anomaly (on auto-cast, so he’s only “anomalysed” for a fraction of a second) & Lagon was getting desync’d from his animation. So his eye would go red but there was already lighting coming out of it while he was going into his sweeping eye beam animation. It was very odd.
