will it be fixed before launch that i can open a chest, town portal, portal back and reopen the chest indefinately? if not, this game is fcked right before it started.
just opened the same chest 10 times in one minute. would be even faster without this freakin delay if you wanna use a portal or enter a new area.
the exact chest im talking about is the keepers contingency in the keepers vault. havent tried that with another chest yet.
I donât think this is a big deal; the drops from farming chests this way are useless compared to just farming normally.
Itâs marginally possible that if the game ends up with a botting problem, theyâll do this. But what can you even get from campaign chests that somebody would bother to bot for? Tiny amounts of gold? Low-level uniques (without LP because the zone level is too low)? Affix shards?
The game is not going to be âfuckedâ because you can get a bunch of crappy low level items over and over.

This is exactly the kind of thing that the Harbingers said would attract RMT bots! Think of the 1000s of gold they can collect each week using this method.
This has come up a lot, and every time we have to remind people itâs irrelevant. You arenât gaming the system, you arenât getting rich, you are in fact slowing your own progress doing this. Nobody has to worry about this being an issue, because it doesnât work in any endgame area where actual good loot would be.
the point that the system allows things like that will lead to some kind of abuse in the future. you really shouldnt underrestimate the will of the crowd to abuse game mechanics at all costs. LE is not the first game that struggles with things like that. simply ignoring it wont make it disappear. we all should have played enough arpgs to know better.
i just want the game to have the best launch possible but it seems like everything is either getting ignored or relativized
The amount of items in monoliths you get and the quality of those items are way better than that chest 100 times over.
Doing the appropriate end game content for the same amount of time (not even super hard content mind you), you will get easily over 100 x more value earned . there are builds that can simply walk around in an end game zone and generate more value than that
Yeah if you think bots are gonna be opening chests, your silly.
They are gonna be farming end game content because its not 1996 where we dont have AI that can play games on 8 clients.
Any boogieman created about âthis very simple loop creates 3 rare items, and people will print 5000000 items!â is unfounded cause if there is going to be a botting/loot abuse scene, its gonna be with bots that actually play the game.
Did you try that in offline mode? Because in online mode, you wonât be able to open the chest 10 times a minute by using a portal. Loading times in online mode are too long. In offline mode, nobody cares. If people want to exploit or outright cheat, itâs up to them.
Maybe, just maybe, shrines and boxes that spawn in echoes next to the player could be exploited to a noticeable degree by a bot that constantly enters and leaves echoes. Anyone doing it manually is wasting their time.
This is all moot, though, since the devs do plan on fixing instances, in which case this wonât happen anymore. It just wonât be for 1.0. And until then, like others said, itâs not really exploitable for endgame, which is what matters.
It doesnât though. This canât happen in monoliths. Anything you do in the campaign is meaningless and a waste of time. It really is a non-issue.
