How many band-aids has EHG used to try and fix this particular boss fight, and it is still pretty bad. Know the mechanics and have plenty of damage. Evade in time to be out from under a given one shot but started your evade when you saw the tell? To bad, your dead anyways. And no, I refuse to cheese it.
I agree, very easy campaign and then bam! Lagon you!
The fight argueably had a lot of issues related to bugs and certain builds not working properly. That sucks.
But mechanically I really like the fight and I donāt think they should remove or change it.
I really love these very mechnical bosses that have a few very lethal abilities, but are easy to deal with once you figure out how.
Agree with Heavy. Yes, itās a jump in difficulty, but I really enjoy the Lagon fight as it is.
The Lagon fight is a really nice fight in the game.
The issue isnāt the boss, itās the content before that not preparing you properly by putting enemies and bosses in the way to prepare you for such mechanical fights, every boss beforehand can simply be facteanked by standing in front of it with a caster, and then Lagon suddenly demands actually doing something.
Itās the campaign in need of fixing simply.
Dont change it. It is one of the best fights in the campaing which reminds you to get better.
Iād say the problem isnāt the fight itself, but how buggy it is. They still havenāt fixed it in this season. To name a few in the very few (less than 10) times I fought him this season I had the same old bugs of being stuck in phase 2 of the fight without ever being teleported back, Lagoon dying and me not being able to collect loot and so on. (un)Fortunately they nerfed the build I used to use that needed an item from him, which means I can just skip it altogether. To be honest Iād rather have a simple fight that works that an amazing mechanic that never works, is always buggy and I have to skip.
I feel the fight is fairly easy no?
Hit the tentacle, there is a big white circle around so you dodge it, hit tentacle again till its 50%
you shouldnt dodge that white circle but just move out of the way and then go at it again imo.
The fight is definitely easier than last league but the final phase is still not good for that progression of the game. Itās the ONLY boss where you would need quite a lot regen mechanics to properly do him. So you have to either go fully glass cannon and hope you nuke him before the stupid waves start coming or you have to farm for regen stuff just for this one single fight and that is offputting, because every content behind that we all know is super easy again.
The waves in phase 2 and 3 need to be toned down either in movementspeed, spawnspeed or damage. Iād even tend to combine that by making them ~10% slower and ~10% slower appearing and damage around 20% lower. They would still hit you hard but it would be rather your fault than āpanic runningā into them or not going out of their way fast enough.
In phase 3 Iād even make them a bit smaller, because sometimes they do hit you even when you are above/below them which is highly frustrating.
All other mechanics are fine now, except the bugs of course.
To be fair, it is probably the only non-Abby boss with consistent pressure (low level damage at frequent intervals), but Iād argue that having sustain (leech, regen, life on hit, ward gen, etc) is vital for monos in general, so you really shouldnāt need it ājust for this fightā. If you do then you will have issues in monos (normal &/or empowered).
I usually have more of a hard time with waves in phase 2 than in phase 3.
In phase 2 they come from all over the place and is sometimes harder to avoid.
In phase 3 they run in a clockwise motion (top row moves left to right, bottom row moves right to left) so itās often a lot easier to avoid them by just moving up and down both lanes, or walking along one in time with them.
