I’m thinking 25k. I’m at 90k now and I dread adding new tabs. The costs are very painful for CoF.
Gold is a non-issue late-game for CoF as you don’t need it for anything and for MG it’s easily acquired simply by mass-listing idols for cheap.
Even 500k is a miniscule amount of price going forward.
And if you need that many tabs then sorting is supposed to happen yesterday rather then later already.
Yeah, I’m CoF for life and as @Kulze said in late game gold is really not an issue. I have the full 200 tabs (the last one costing nearly 1M gold) and still have over 13M now.
You’ll get there, just keep pressing.
Go into woven tree and block all echos but gold, run about 2 hours worth of echos and youll have enough gold for the season, maybe. lol
don’t forget that late game isn’t the only stage of the game people play. I am not there. The only reason I have any gold is because I have a MG character selling stuff.
Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind.
Yes I know, but going through campaign and getting into early monos you will still get enough gold to buy the tabs you need unless you are seriously hoarding so much that you really don’t need.
Do you have any tips for how you get there?
for small amounts of gold the CoF set-rewards and set prophecies deliver… but at some point that falls off… do you just push higher corruption? what is your secret?
There really is no secret, I struggled like you did early on b/c I played like every other ARPG.
I tried to build up my gold by picking up a lot of stuff to sell to the vendor. That being said, here is the tips I have for you.
-
Focus on not picking everything up to sell and just kill mobs, you will get gold faster b/c you won’t be taking time to empty your inventory.
-
In monos look for the nodes that give gold as the reward.

Don’t keep “everything” that you “think” may be useful. Once you get to higher levels/further in the game, you will find that you have to get rid of at least nearly all of that so make room for what you are once again finding “may” be more useful.
Look at what your build and an alt you are planning on will need and keep things for that. Don’t hoard like I have.
I only disagree with this. Not fully, because I understand your point. But partially.
This is a good suggestion for “regular players”, but not really for an altoholic. If you make a dozen characters per season, hoarding is actually useful. I have over 20 tabs full of random exalted gear. When I make a new character, more often than not I already have decent exalted gear to slap on them and oftenly even pretty good, almost BiS ones as well.
Since I will create a bunch of characters all the time, I can’t really plan for them because I don’t yet know what characters they will be.
That being said, this only works for me because I do make a bunch of characters all the time and also, importantly, I play in legacy.
For seasonal characters, this doesn’t apply as much and your suggestions are all good.
Trust me, I understand exactly where you are coming from since I am an altaholic. I have 20 characters for a reason, and I have 200 tabs for a reason. But when you are starting out you have to focus on your current and “maybe” an alt until you get to a point where you can afford more stash tabs and therefore hoarding.
Oh yeah, that I agree with.
Making gold with CoF is quite easy. Each time you drop a set item, you drop the full set. Just vendor it. You’ll be swimming in them soon anyway.
