I have several troubles with this everytime, cause this site isn’t working in my country without vpn, and i need to test 4-5 vpn or dpi avoiding progs to login, cause steam guard can’t give me pass easily on pc, on the phone it’s completely impossible for me.
LE has a full offline client. You do need Steam running, but you can run it in offline mode as well.

Ah, ok. I believe they use steam login just so they don’t have to manage users themselves. That way all user management is shifted to Steam.
Changing that would be a massive undertaking, and I doubt they will do any work on it anytime soon, if ever.
There have been bugs around for years now (like when you mute a topic and it just disappears from the category list and you can only find it again via search) and they still haven’t fixed it.
I don’t think the forums have been changed since launch.
it’s only my trouble which happened recently, cause steam guard hate vpn and see me as scammer when i need verification from my phone. My gov constantly blocking lot of stuff, and did another sh&t for me
