Please Add Character Creation and Customization & Non-Gender-Locked classes! Even just the minimalist character customization or non gender locking would be nice. Please consider adding this!

The only thing I think would be great, is having transmogs. I always find cool armors I can never use because the stats are all wrong and my chars look like hobos,

Sometimes it is.

This has been discussed many times before. Devs said its not their priority at the moment.

There are downsides to it. Right now there are far more important matter to do then:

  • hireing voice actors
  • redo anomation
  • redo armor models

and whatnot. I hope they work on pressing matters instead of adding cosmetical stuff into the game that isn’t needed to play the game smoothly. When everything is up and running I’m completely pro more options untill then? Nah thx.

On top of it the search function is your friend this topic was discussed up and down and all the way arround and beaten like a dead horse.

I’ll never understand the logic behind it.
Do I ask for nail polish even though I’ll never see the characters fingernails because they wears gloves all the time?
That doesn’t make sense when you create and customize your character even though you’ll never see their face again unless you take off the helmet and zoom in really close.

as a woman who prefers to play male characters, i’m very happy with the existing genders and in an arpg it’s less of a problem, for me, to play female characters. they don’t run like they urgently need to go to the toilet, or walk like they are on a catwalk.

i want to customize the genitals for my characters

If the game has been a financial success, it would be nice to have this. Even just 6 or so heads, hair styles/colors, and skin colors to pick from.

yes true

I wouldn’t mind gender choices, but coming from D2 and PoE, I’m used to not having a choice. I guess that’s one thing D4 got right. It’s a lot of work, though, and I’m not sure how big a priority it is for most players.

There is a lot of work required to add new character models or even allow those models to be changed. I can confidently say that at this point its extremely unlikely any sort of character modifications (like that in bg3) is plausible for the LE team. This is something that requires extreme amounts of work. If it was possible, or even practical it would require the team to likely use a tool from the unity asset store to carry it out, which brings us to the other problem…

In games there are various issues that come up from character models (ie the sizes like sorc in d4 vs druid in d4). Each model requires gear that is for it model size. If you try to put druid gear on the sorc (in d4) you will get problems, most commonly things called ā€œclippingā€ where armor go’s through the body or other armor pieces.

Adding more models that are similar in height, weight, etc is a possible and even plausible thing, so this is really the best you can hope for on this.

Did you dare to assume their genders, have you asked for pronounces? XD
Use imagination and you mage can identify as a woman
