Please add a way to remove buff

Please, add a way to remove a buff from the buffs active on my character.
Why - some of the buffs that pilons (shrines?) give me are very annoying or distracting:

  • the fire bird - deals practically no damage but obscures my view and whenever I click to move the animation jerks to point in that direction.
  • the rotating green beam - it is so disorienting I want to just stop and wait for it to expire:(

Makes no sense, you click to get a buff then want to remove it?

I supposed there were some actual real reasons for this request…
Can’t you just not click the shrines if you don’t like them?

To be fair, in the middle of combat you don’t always know what the shrine is. It’s there, you just pick it up, because it should be a boost.
Not to mention the shrines that actually hurt you, like casting spells when you have bleeding heart, removing mana because of melee skills, etc.

Even before 1.0 I wish I had this option when I had a retal build that was worse when I had the cold beetles around.

I don’t see anything wrong with having the option to cancel a shrine buff. Just make it optional or in a way that people don’t turn it off by accident.

Apart from the extra work for this so minuscule impairing only a few niche builds are affected by? While you are the most firm defender that EHG should not prioritize things exactly like that?

Yeah, other than that, there’s really nothing wrong… If it’s easy to do and lead to no undesired bugs, then it’s ok.

I really never experienced this… If it’s a whole mess in the screen, last thing I’m doing is clicking things on the map that might distract me from the fight… I also hate those cold bugs shrine, reason I never click them.

Maybe it’s easier to just give shrines different models? idk

I don’t think it’s a priority, just a nice QoL to add eventually.
It’s more of a priority fixing those issues happening in the first place.

Although I do agree that the phoenix and the beam are annoying visually and distract from what you’re trying to do, or even from seeing what’s on the ground.
So maybe it would be simpler to make a setting where you can simply check some shrines that don’t get triggered?

Shrines are supposed to be something we always want to pick up. At worst, they should be useless. They shouldn’t be inconvenient or even prejudicial to your gameplay.
We shouldn’t have to stop to read every shrine on the way, or simply not use them because of that. My opinion anyway.

I’d be fully supporting if it was more something like this other post someone created, complaining about visual clarity with all those new beams and explosions and particles added with newest cycle.

It’s really getting to a point where the game will need to put a photosensitivity warning on the starting screen. I cannot imagine how people with photosensitivy are handling all these. They sure could use an option to reduce that.

So maybe it would be better if they just start working on that, as part of the frequently requested accessibility settings.
