I love diablo style games and i did not know i could buy it without “DRM” which is Steam. Now some questions
(Q1) Now i read about the SteamDeck and its really a nice hardware so i’m wondering if i can still play this game on SteamDeck if i buy it from here directly. I’m thinking if the savegames are compatible. I could buy the game twice if that’s what it takes but what if i play on pc using original version (buy from here) and on steamdeck play the steam version. Would that work?
(Q2) If i understand the game is under development soon to be 0.8.2 or maybe 0.8.3. Is the characters reset between updates? i get that the tree and powers are changes and you need to respec but more curious on character levels.
As much as i love gaming my time is nowdays limited so i dont want to waste several days/weeks just to start from beginning. Is it a good idea to start playing now anyway or do you think i should wait for the final version (1.0) to come out?
You could buy it from here, register it with Steam & presumably play it on the Steamdeck via Steam. The saves are the same regardless of where you get the game from & if you use Steamcloud then it should sync your saves.
0.8.3 is the next patch out, no they won’t be resetting any characters but if there’s any major changes they may respec the passives &/or skills.
You may wish to wait for multiplayer (0.9) which should be out this year since the current (offline) saves won’t be migrated across to EHG’s servers. Then when the game launches we’re expecting them to move any beta/EA multiplayer characters across to a “standard” league so they can’t interact with any “launch” characters but you’d still be able to play them (same as the offline characters).

Do i understand correct that i can use the key to register both in Steam and install the regular version if i buy it here?
I like offline for learning characters so i can play and learn and once the 0.9 hits i can start with a fresh characters that i assume will migrate to 1.0 if i understand correct?
Yes. There’s an option in your account here that allows you to link it to your Steam account.
Yes, you will still be able to play with your pre-launch multiplayer characters after the launch but they won’t be in the league/season/whatever it’s called.

I get the character system, much similar to blizzard, singleplayer dont move to multiplayer like in Season or what they call them.
Will give it a go , now deciding which pack to get hehe
