Player Decorated Hideouts

One of the biggest aspects of PoE that I miss, and think would be so fun in LE, is the hideout mechanic. It would be so cool to have a little base that you can customise and spend basically all your time in, in post-campaign outside of echoes. Here are some general ideas/concepts that would be really cool to see!

NPCs:

  • CoF NPC: Sells you all Lenses, like the one in the Observatory.

  • MG NPC: Has all the markets for every item type centralised into one single NPC. (You could turn the NPC into an interactable object like a Market Stall instead.)

  • Weaver Faction NPC: Sells you Woven Echoes.

  • All Respec NPCs: Passive/Mastery and Blessing respec. (Could merge both into one.)

  • Vendors: The regular Item Vendor and Town Gambler. (Could merge both into one.)

The CoF and MG NPCs could also be a hybrid to include their Favour Gamblers. or a Gambler NPC that wraps both Favour gamblers and the Gold Gambler into one.

UTILITY OBJECTS:

  • Forge: Despite it not being very helpful (Press F), It would still be a nice placeable object that could even have multiple variants/skins.

  • CoF Telescopes: All four telescopes, or wrap all four into one, similar to how you can access all four even if you only click on one.

  • Monolith Webs: Cant remember its name, but the thing you click to access a monoliths web of echoes. You could have one for each monolith, or choose any monolith through one interactable.

  • Portal/Doors: All the unique Dungeon entrances and possibly Abberoth’s door could be accessible from your Hideout, without having to waypoint over to their designated entrances.

  • Stash: Self-explanatory. You could also give it skins.

  • Waypoint: Self-explanatory. You could also give it skins.

Decorational Objects:

  • Mannequins: Can display cosmetic sets you own, or display actual gear. This could even extend to showing all of the gear equipped on another one of your characters while you arent directly playing them, maybe even allowing you to edit and customise their gear without having to log into them.

  • Trophies: Trophies for each Timeline Boss, Harbinger, and/or Abberoth (and/or Uber Abberoth) kill, also displaying the highest corruption kill for them.

  • Purchased Pets: Any cosmetic pets you’ve purchased can be displayed hanging out in your hideout. Since you can only equip two, some people may have bought more and never get to end up using them, would also make them more worth the money.

Obviously there would be tons of general decorations like lights, pillars, flooring, bushes, trees etc, but the above list is for more complex/LE-Specific ideas.

Hideouts & Other:

While Hideouts are not inherently P2W, I imagine EHG would want to give everyone the ability to create and use them (because EHG is cool af), rather than lock it behind a paywall. So paying for skins for things within the hideout (and the hideouts themself) is the only way to monetise it otherwise.

I am not imaginative enough to come up with new cosmetics for all of the different furnitures and objects, so I stuck to listing a small few hideouts. Feel free to reply with all kinds of ideas for different hideout designs you would like to see, and skins for objects listed above/new objects you came up with yourself. Cant wait to read all of your suggestions! <3

Obviously, there would be different hideouts, likely sporting different sizes and shapes, and definitely involving all kinds of different aesthetics, lots of them being inspired by the unique world of LE. This is a list of some of these different hideout ideas I think would be really cool.

  • Pirate Ship: A classic, must have hideout, where the deck and cabin create a large, open space to design freely. It could perhaps be designed/inspired by the campaign location “Harton’s Dreadnought”, perhaps you stole that very ship from him and decked it out.

  • Castle: A simple yet effective hideout design. Giving the option to include outdoor areas, and making the player feel like they are setting up shop in a true stronghold, or even ruling a little kingdom of their own.

  • Cave: While it seems meh at first, a prehistoric cave fitting the “Ancient Era” would be really cool. You can give it multiple rooms with tunnels, and/or a primitively defended garden outside of the large cave entrance, giving players the ultimate open floor plan.

  • Floating Island: Not much to say, but just a much larger, juiced up version of the little floating rock you inhabit inbetween echoes, or comparable to your own custom version of the “End of Time” town.

I could enjoy some aspect of this, enjoyed it in Asheron’s Call a long time ago. I’ve thought about it for LE but never made a post about it.

Yeah I was just thinking about PoE hideouts when looking at the little between-echo island. I thought it would not only make the downtime more fun since ur in your own customisable place, but could be huge in terms of purchasable decorations for devs, seems like a win win.
