Just wanted to check if anyone else is noticing the same thing before I submit a bug report if needed.
With the framerate shown (F11 or third party overlay)… Do any of you notice a small drop in fps of about 1-3 frames when running over gold drops?
For me its especially noticeable if you open one of the gold chest rewards in Mono or if you run around picking up gold after clearing a decent number of mobs… When running over multiple gold drops, I find my fps can drop close to 20fps if the drops are close enough together. Its only for a second, but its noticeable…
So… Anyone else experiencing this?
ps… I never noticed this before 0.8.4 hence confirming if anyone else is seeing the same or if something is off on my setup… 1080p, Very Low settings with framerate limit of 60fps. Also, I do not experience this when picking up glyphs/runes or any items… only gold…
Yes, I’ve also seen an impact to performance when picking up large quantities of gold. The shrines that drop gold bundles as a reward (Shrine of Wealth) provide the most noticeable impact, though brief.
However, I can’t say that this is something new for me. I’m fairly certain that I’ve always experienced some performance hit with these gold shrines, but I’ve also never really tracked it either so it’s hard to say if it’s worse for me this patch.
Gold needs to **** right off when I’m in combat as well. I’m trying to dodge 80 mobs on the screen and have to also try to read the ground effects with 100 gold text tips all over the place.
You know the core part of the gameplay that is killing massive herds of shit. That’s kind of beyond the point though. I didn’t tell the game to light my screen up with the text of worthless gold pile amounts everywhere.
I don’t want to add yet another key to my rotation. I’d prefer to have the game handle it with a toggle… or better yet just give me one big gold explosion in the end rift chest. That would be much more satisfying anyway.
A toggle would be nice, I agree. Most of the time I’m playing with damage numbers turned off because I want to reduce screen clutter. Less info is also more immersive.
