Permanent Stash tab suggestion

Another dude talked about it but i m gonna give my take on how to solve it.

For starters. stash tabs need to be unified and is considered an ACCOUNT setting.

that means if you make any changes on a cycle, it will also affect legacy. the immediate pushback is, how can that happen? if we buy stash on legacy it wont be fair that their stash is also updated on legacy!

correct. so this is how they would operate

Shared operations:

  • Creating/arranging/customizing tabs will affect all tabs on all modes EXCEPT offline only mode. that one exists as its own thing and can be forgotten about.
  • All changes made to your stash is reflected in all other stash tabs in all other modes. SC/HC/ SSF/Trade/Legacy/Cycle. And to emphasize, offline only is exampted.

Buying/Unlocking tabs

  • Unlocking a stash tab on one game mode adds it to the tabs that you own and can customize etc as normal. This tab will appear on all other modes BUT for all other modes, all the new tabs are greyed out and needs to be unlocked in their respective modes.

For example. i m playing in a new cycle SSF. i have a default tab. I put it under an armor category, and rename it to Helmets. I buy another 3 tabs for gloves, boots and chest pieces.

Later I got bored and play legacy. The armor category with 4 tabs within it are exactly the same as my SSF ones. my helmet tab is immediately available for use. gloves/boots/chest tabs are there but greyed out. i have to purchase them. i purchase all of them. and purchase a few extra tabs to create a new category “weapons” and a “dagger” tab.

i quit and come back in a few weeks. and roll a HC character. all the tabs including the weapons and armor ones are arranged exactly the same as legacy. and all of them except the helmet tab is greyed out. i will need to rebuy the tabs on this mode if i want to use them.

End of cycle migration

  • Now that each tab has a corresponding tab in legacy. Migration is much more easier. But it is all manual. On each individual “previous cycle” tab, the players have a futue options.
  1. Migrate to legacy tab
  • this option will attempt to push all items in this tab to the respective tab in legacy as long as there is space.
  • if all items are successfully migrated, the tab will automatically self delete
  • if not the remainder items will stay in place
  1. Purchase tab for conversion
  • This essentially is an automation, if the player uses this option they need to pay for a new stash tab. then the tab is simply converted into a legacy tab, a prefix “_temp” will be added to the tab’s name and it will be placed right beside the legacy version. for example purchasing “daggers” tab would move this tab from it’s “remove only status”, rename it to “daggers_temp” and will be placed right next to the existing non remove “daggers” stash tab.
  • In case the of conflicts such as a player has played a few different leagues and has purchased/converted tabs this way the system simply checks the last tab name and adds a number such as “daggers_temp1” “daggers_temp2” etc.
  • Ideally once the conversion is done, players will have enough OCD that they would rename the tab to “daggers 2” themselves.
  1. Delete tab
  • Some players have no love for cycle gear or are too lazy to organize so this exists for them.

Stash templates

  • One new feature can be stash templates. where players can have an alternate stash setup.
  • This feature is essentially gated behind gold costs. if you have purchased 100 tabs in one template, you will not get 100 tabs to use in your other templates. you need to purchase the tabs as if they’re additional tabs on top of the ones you already own.
  • As each template requires to buy new tabs. It means that this is not a way to easily resort your existing stash in a different way.

For example in template 1. i have armor: helmet, chest, gloves, boots, weapons: daggers. in template 2 it will start off totally empty with no tabs to unlock. i have to RECREATE armor/helmet etc tabs and they will be empty even tho they were already exist in template 1.

This option is helpful for players who play alts with different playstyles and different gear priorities.

Other concerns

  • Cycle content is meant to transfer over to legacy! this includes stash tabs purchased, the same way our harbinger faction bonuses transfer over! Good point. Thus players will be reimbursed any gold spent purchasing tabs from that particular cycle and will have the gold available on legacy for them to easily repurchase their tabs.

  • What if I change a tab, what will happen to the “remove only” version? Good question. Thus to ease LE’s database, once any change is done to the parent non remove only tab, the remove only version will renamed to a generic “remove only” tab and can no longer use migration/conversion tools. Further more. EHG can choose to enforce a new system where remove only tabs only last ONE CYCLE. so during season 3 any season 1 remove only stash will go poof.

  • The current system doesnt work that way. How can we get it to work? That’s LE’s problem. Personally I feel EHG has to decide how to handle this and maybe force it on players. players will have to be forced to comply.
