This following settings are settings i use to play LE without any major FPS drop every few minutes, or when in large fights.

With this you cap you FPS to 30, but it doesn’t play that much different then 60 FPS if you ask me. Due to bad optimization for certain PC builds this is the only way atm.
My build is Ryzen 2700x, 1080 Ti and 16 GB of Ram and i can play many other games on high settings with stable 60 FPS, some even on ultra settings.
But i need to play LE on almost all low/lowest settings.
I am not here to bash the developers or anything, this kind of things happen with games. Some games have a good optimization for Intel builds, some for Ryzen.
I’ve got a Ryzen 3800x & a 2070 super with 32 gig of ram & I play LE with everything on max at 1440.
Certain builds will have more of an FPS issue than others due to more stuff your pc needs to calculate (minions, dot builds, lots of procs, etc). While I agree that LE isn’t the most optimised game at the moment (by a fairly long shot) I don’t think that the graphics are much of an issue at the moment (compared to something like Cyberpunk).
Newb here…I have a similar build to LLama8 except that I have an overclocked I7-8700 intel cpu. I am in the middle of getting a new rig and giving mine to my nursing peer that just had a new boy (Don’t know when he is going to find time to play it).
Anyways, I was hitting crippling dips in weird places in a small section of the maps. For instance, in the beginning of certain monolith maps…stairwells etc. I have not had any dips since I switched my AA from TAA to FXAA. My rig was having a conflict with the TAA. I don’t know how, but my graphics and textures appeared to improve when I downgraded to FXAA . This was a big QoL issue for me.
I hope Nvidia adds this game to their list eventually and it can optimized through Geforce E. I know there are places in the game that could probably be optimized better, but I am not a code-warrior or developer so my hat is off to them. Reading past threads it appears like it is improving. I just thought I would contribute what fixed all fps issues for me.
Noted I see that you are using FXAA…maybe the intel cpu has something to do with it…I don’t know. Hopefully, they tune the optimization again before official release.
As discussed in the other thread you started, this is, imho, not the way to go. If you are willing to play at 30fps then sure, you could do this, but I honestly run a spec that is slower than yours and I am able to get much more than 30fps - average closer to 60fps with most busy dips into the 40s and I can watch netflix streaming on a second monitor at the same time. The only thing abnormal thing I did for LE was to change my fan curve a little to ensure the GPU temp stayed in the 70’s. The problem I have with your advice is that it should be a LAST resort option when all others (like the FXAA mentioned about) have been considered as its likely that the other options will have a greater impact without forcing the 30fps limit - something I would find impossible to play anything other than Stardew Valley.
Also had this myself… It went away after a graphics card driver update.
