People are quitting because competition is so bad

Only thing you have to do is to add a leaderboard for corruption, and most people will continue play. I mean, arena is boring and ranking up in arena with some broken builds is also boring.

Any future plan for making competition better ?

Competition mages with 30k ward against necromansers with 50k wards lol

Pushing corruption would probably not be a fair competition unless every Mono layout was identical. Just a thought.

Also, where is your evidence that people are quitting?

Leaderboards for corruption will not change anything and even make the whole meta chase even worse. They need to fix broken mechanics and bugs first to introduce a fair environement with ladders.

agreed with othersā€¦ competitive Corruption is not diff then arenaā€¦ my opinionā€¦ Arena is insanely boringā€¦

That saidā€¦ people are pushing 2300 Corruption right nowā€¦ due to Ward bugsā€¦ so competition is only fun for people when its legitā€¦ So until the bugs are fixedā€¦ any leaderboards are sorta worthless

Further noteā€¦ it would be interesting to see data on who even participates in leaderboardsā€¦ Been playing ARPGs since D2 and i can say ive never once in any gameā€¦ cared about a leaderboardā€¦ Game is funā€¦ or its notā€¦ If the leaderboard granted rewardsā€¦ maybe i would look at itā€¦ but then after realizing the competition really isnt competitive for average gamersā€¦ I would stop caring again

Oh I would love that! Got my vote.

Ok this should be fixed, but I would just assume, it will get fixed. So far, the EHG has my trust they will.

The same thing will be happening if thereā€™s a monolith ladder.

But I agree, other ladders would be awesome and my focus has always been monoliths so it would be neat to see how far I could get.

All weā€™ll get is the same few builds though, I love this game but the balance is wild.

People are quitting, huh? How many?

LOL @ leaderboards. I donā€™t even know what key opens them. Iā€™m 98 and 94.

12 at least ^^.

Competition?

Does anyone remember DII ladder resets? All that matter was getting on the list and staying there?

I would like to see a corruption leaderboard myself, would be really cool to see even if im not participating.

That being said, if your goal is ā€œwell arena is boring id totally be a runner for corruption thoā€

lol no, cause whatever you think is good, its not, there is gonna people with 5k corruption this season for sure.

Mages have 15k ward and barely scrape the top 50 (thereā€™s 1 in the top 50 when I looked on March 2, 2024).
Acolytes are pumping 300-500k ward and rogues are able to screenwipe everything as it spawns.

Whoā€™s quitting? I canā€™t see many people quitting.

Actually regarding the Steam statistics since the server issues have been fixed thereā€™s even a rise in concurrent players daily.

Unless theyā€™re ā€˜quitting out of lifeā€™ to play LE I donā€™t see how itā€™s a true statement.

Iā€™m really glad that the leaderboards are mostly irrelevant. It definitely shines the light on some absurdly strong classes (Warlock and Necro Acolytes and Falconer Rogues) but the normal gameplay loop is fun enough to not care about it.

On the other hand, endless arena feels awful to grind up as the arena keys of memory donā€™t do a good enough job. They should be -10 or -20 waves, not -50%.

Do you really play this game for competition? That sounds ridiculous to me.

Itā€™s OK, we can just fish for the right echoes. Thatā€™ll be fun. :expressionless:

As for OP, ARPGs arenā€™t about competition. A lot of us (most?) couldnā€™t care less how much better someone else is doing or how much stronger their character is. It makes little difference to our own enjoyment of a genre that is -mostly- single player based. The only truly competitive environment in ARPGs that wasnā€™t detrimental to the gameā€™s health was probably PvP in D2, and there was no Ladder for it. It was an unofficial thing created by players, and actually enhanced the loot chase and the gameā€™s health and replayability instead of creating a toxic environment where players stress over ā€œgearscoresā€ and clear times. Hopefully EHG doesnā€™t make the same mistake D3 made with GRs.

The only real benefit to a Ladder in an ARPG is being able to track which classes need balance changes, and a Corruption leaderboard would skew the data because of Echoesā€™ randomized nature. Arena does a good job for this purpose so I understand why itā€™s there.

Also, Iā€™m pretty sure there are more people joining than leaving atm. This is a non-issue. Rather have devs focusing on more important things like bugs, class balance, much-needed Bazaar filters, etc.

Multiple player teams have different synergy.

Like my glyph of domination would be insane in a party for ward generation. Itā€™s also just good in general too.

My gear is getting pretty insane atm. In top 20 mage atm just doing a random EXP/Favor test (endless arena is in fact kinda terrible exp btw). I could do a lot better if I put any time into it.
