Paladin Smite+Fissure question

Hi, does anyone know if the node “Deep Impact” from the Smite tree work with the node “Judgement of the Storm” from the Paladin tree please ?

Hi, your question is slightly confusing.

Deep Impact gives additional Critical Strike Multiplier. Since only Hits can crit, so this node only affects your Smite hit damage, but not any Damage over Time (DoTs) or Ailments.

Judgement of the Storm gives chances to apply Ailments and DoT damage multiplier. Only Hits can apply Ailments (unless stated otherwise), but the damage multiplier only applies to DoTs and Ailments.

So yes, both nodes will work at the same time.
But if you’re asking if the damage bonuses get multiplied, the answer is no.

I’ll necro my post since I just saw it got an answer and I never got a notification despite having them turned on.

I know everything you talked about, my question was about the “5 points bonus” part of Judgement of the Storm. It give 1% more lightning damage over time for every 2% crit multi.
I tried to test it on dummies and it was not clear if it made a difference.

Edit : I reread your post and I realized I missed the “DoT damage multiplier” so you talked about the “5 points bonus” part but I didn’t talked about using Fissure from Smite converted to Lightning, my bad.

Passives like that tend to use the stat on your character screen not anything including bonuses for specific skills. I’ve not tested it but I’d expect no. 4 points in Deep Impact would give an additional 50% more lighting DoT damage to fissure if it did work which would be quite obvious.

Ah I see, Fissure was the missing part. So the answer is no, it won’t work.

The reason is simple. Deep Impact adds % crit multi to Smite, but not to you, and Judgement of the Storm only uses the % crit multi that you have.

Yeah It’s what I though but wasn’t sure. I guess I made the right choice not going for Deep Impact back then so. Thanks both of you.
