Yes things like that totally work.
I personally would lean a bit more into things that also give ward to allies to be more than just a retroactive healer. Ward also boosts allies eHP quite a lot.
a few small things I would spec into as well:
Holy Aura: Shielded by Fatih (you only have 2/4) + Against the Odds
Healing Hands: Synthesis of Light + Guardian’s Chant
Symbol of Hope: Depending on your allies in your party the Crit and/or Flat Fire damage node is quite strong. Also you could run 1 or two of the Unique rigns that boost Symbol of Hope. It’s called Oriath’s Sun Seal. It gives Skill Points and Symbol Gain Rate
Passives: I think you totally overlooked the Holy Symbol branch on the Paladin passive tree, its great passive heal and ward generation. The follow up node makes it also affect allies. I am not 100% sure if the ward portion also affect allies though.

You could also move some points around in Javelin to get down to Divine Intervention & Righteous Descend for more free Smites (& healing/cleanses thereof).
In Smite you could get rid of Fissure & go with the blind chance from Blinding Flash (blind prevents affected mobs from critting).
