I made some orchestral variations of the main theme for each character (Mage one is on the way). I’d love some feedback for each one before I go on making full versions. Also any ideas for any other themes in the game that would shine in an orchestral setup just send them my way . Cheers!
P.S. Reading the forum guidlines it didn’t seem like this kind of post isn’t allowed. If I misunderstood I am sorry.
Wow. Just wow. Amazing job, they are absolutely great.
As you asked for feedback:
I love Acolyte, Primalist and Sentinel. Exactly the atmosphere I associate with these classes. Brilliant!
Rogue starts great, again perfect rogue-y mood as I imagine it. But I am not convinced by the combat bit in the middle (0:21), the full chorus feels a bit “heavy” for a rogue. I think we want fast-paced, yes, but more light footed. If that makes sense.
Mage, I am not sure. It is nice, but it feels a bit too slow and contemplative, I would see something a bit more “explosive”, with all the fire and explosions these guys produce.
Just my two pence, I am no musician at all but I attach a lot of importance to atmosphere in games.
First of all I really appreciate you taking the time to hear them all and read the descriptions, it means a lot!
As for the feedback you really cought me red handed there :D. I struggled a lot with finishing the rogue piece and I think it shows, as you pointed out the middle part is indeed off base and “heavy”. Will have to take a more “light” approach and more thematically fitting.
Mage I can totally agree that it’s a personal preference, I really wanted to make a chamber piece and the best candidate of the 5 was the Mage. But does that really express the character to its fullest? Probably not, so maybe if that one minute is the outro of a longer and more explosive and vibrant piece it would make more sense.
Again much love for taking the time and actually giving me some nice ideas and direction! <3
Thank you very much! I haven’t done any of the full versions yet cause I have been busy. I will try to cook something up for the release though for sure, glad you liked them!
