On controller, Umbral Blades with Cacaphony of Steel should target the closest unit, not simply set a vector towards it at max distance

EDIT: Sorry, nevermind, it feels fine with the Precision Cuts node allocated in the Umbral Blades skill tree.

Do you have the Precision Cuts node as well? That’s required to drop the Blades at the target. There was also a bug that was fixed & returned several times that fired the Blade at max range regardless. Is this a controller issue or does it happen even with a mouse?

Thanks Llama, I can’t test with an M/KB right now because I’m on a laptop with just a controller and the laptop’s mousepad.

Before I posted this I hadn’t taken the Precision Cuts node. Now that I have, my feedback is slightly different.

Again, this is with a controller.

The behavior is better with Precision Cuts taken (the blades are usually not placed at max range), however, even with this node the Umbral Blades tend to be dropped behind the target rather than right on top of it. I’m calling the “target” the mob that is highlighted in red. This still feels bad although it is better than without Precision Cuts allocated.

In which case what you were seeing was the intended behaviour. Without Precision Cuts, the Umbral Blades always land at max distance.

From memory, this can often be the cast with a mouse & keyboard as well. But it’s been a while since I used Umbral Blades.
