Windows settings, or Yolomouse are your best options right now.
Windows settings can enlarge the cursor.
Yolomouse is less than the cost of a starbuck’s coffee, works for every app and game on your computer, and gives full customization of the cursor. If you can afford a coffee or a snack, you can afford yolomouse.
No dude, it’s not a question about paying a coffee.
It’s about I refuse to pay for a program that I will use for a reason which is a design problem.
If the dev put a with edge in the cursor, will increase the visibility in 100%
I can buy a coffee for me and for you, will be a reson, we’ll chat in a coffee shop.
Not everyone wants the cursor to be how you want it. I believe the devs have said that having cursor options is more complicated than they want it to be with the current engine.
So, since you don’t want to pay for it, as I have said, you can get Yolomouse free from the github. Unless what you really want is to just complain when there is a fix out there available.
It’s not what I want.
I know the devs already told a thousands of times.
I just want a cursos MORE visible.
The color, they can put anyone, I just want to see the dam cursor, because the actual color grade is exactly the same of the gameplay.
Sometimes the cursor disappears in somes spells and cenários with the same color.
There’s a free version of Yolomouse on github, you don’t have to pay for it.
I think the problem isn’t changing the cursor itself, is having a customized cursor for each player. I’m pretty sure they can change the current cursor, but the change would have to always apply to everyone.
The issue is making it so that each player can choose their own cursor.
Yeah, that why I’m questioning.
In my opinion the cursor has a bad design.
They could increase the contrast and visibility of that, without changing the thematic conception.
Furthermore, a better design will improve the visibility to people with visibility problems and color blinds.
I can’t believe this is not an option in the settings menu already, not only am I on a 4k monitor but I am 50 years old! I lose my pointer about every 20 seconds or so and have to swirl locate my pointer before continuing on.
With that being said, Even if you were dirty enough to add larger, more colorful pointers through micro transactions I would be the first in line with my credit card… because for me personally, Not having the ability to change size and recolor the pointer almost makes the game unplayable.
PS… whoever it was that suggested Yolomouse, That was the best 3.99 I have spent in my LIFE!!
You can get Yolomouse somewhere on Github for free if it is still arround there. I just bought it because it’s an awesome little tool. Whoever is unable to google such little tools and complains should never ever again have a cursor bigger then 3 pixels that blands with the backround colours.
I got it from Steam, The only reason I hadn’t considered a tool like that before is because I always worry about getting banned for using a 3rd party application.
Yolomouse is fine. Not only does it not change any game files, it also doesn’t react to conditions in the game. So it doesn’t break any ToS.
Even if it did, I’m sure the devs would still give it a pass, since it’s the only way to get past this issue until they manage to figure it out in the game.
I don’t buy this for a second. The fact that they expect anyone to actually believe that tells me the only reason it isn’t an option already is they plan to eventually sell pointer packs in the store.
No, that’s not the reason. And it’s very cynical of you.
You’re saying that the devs that have repeatedly said that if ever there was a gold picking pet, they would give one for free to everyone, and the devs that have so far implemented 0 P2W features, are just doing this on purpose so they can collect money?
Not only that, your argument makes no sense. If that was actually the reson, and it was easy to implement, like you seem to imply, then they would have already added it as MTX.
So the fact that they haven’t only supports the fact that it’s not actually an easy thing to implement with Unity’s engine.
When they do, it’s quite likely we’ll get the PoE model: you’ll have a few free options to choose from and a few sold as MTX.
I’m a Software Engineer, and I’ve looked into why this is an issue.
Last Epoch is built with the Unity game engine, and Unity itself has no facility to change mouse size (which requires modern support for monitor DPI aware cursors, which Unity lacks). Even the support for changing cursors is filled with user-reports of problems. I believe (but have not tested) that unity’s method of implementing “custom” cursors may be Unity rendered, which means they would be lagged by FPS, rather than using the hardware cursor (which is always responsive and essential for games).
I far as I can see, to reliably do anything with cursors, EHG may need to get a source-license to Unity, and take on the problematic responsibility of changing Unity itself, and working with their custom version of Unity, which is a fairly daunting task for a small studio.
Third party mouse cursor can cause lag and I don’t recommend them. I had terrible lag issues that I tracked down to YOLOMOUSE, and which went away when I got rid of it.
My recommendation (and what I have done) is to use WINDOWS ACCESSIBILITY to increase the size and/or look of the mouse cursor. This will affect the cursor across all of windows, but having a bigger cursor all the time is a small price to pay.
For me, only works if I put a extremely bigger pointer, that because I’m a dyslexic, and for me, I have extremely difficult to find objects, that linked to a dyslexic problems.
And, I don’t want a cursor only for me, with my specially way I like. I just want a cursos with more contrast. This will benefit all the community and will have zero interference in any desing.
I have that issue with yolo, the program cause lag in game.
That would be fair, except EHG has always done the opposite every step of the way so far. They’ve always been very transparent about their intentions and their adamant refusal to place P2W features, or pay for QoL features.
They’ve always communicated openly about their issues and admitted their shortcomings.
They even let you ask the devs directly, either on discord or their stream, and they will give you an honest answer.
So I’d say they deserve the benefit of the doubt until such time as they give us a reason not to.
Well in that regard I certainly more inclined to believe their statements now than I would have been a year ago, despite the occasional knee-jerk reaction to things that just don’t add up.
