You withheld quite literally everything about your character other than its base class and level until this comment. Nothing about your skills, passives, or equipment is anywhere in this thread, and you refused to provide it to everyone who asked because you claim it shouldn’t matter.
And yet, clearly, it does matter:
Do you not think that this is information that someone could use to investigate a possible balance issue? Come on man. You’re being combative and it doesn’t help anybody.
You know I would say you are the one being combative here. I am not looking for help. I am stating my opinion about the early game difficulty as the thread title states. You may not like the way I’ve put it and that’s fine, you are entitled to your opinion as well.
I repeat I did not withhold anything because I am not looking for help. If I was I would have posted my build and in any event if you read my reply to BM21 you can see the info you seek.
While I echo the sentiment in general that the early game difficulty should not be an issue, there does seem to be some sort of disconnect here. I started a new Sentinel with this patch and didn’t see/feel any issues with the difficulty in the early portion of the game. I didn’t even bother specializing skills as I was waiting to get Javelin. I do have some uniques but nothing that special.
It seems like there is something specific with the skills you chose to level with or the passives you are using. Do you have any void resistance? I understand the point that at this early in the game, pretty much anything should work. I think what others are saying is that that is the actual case, and perhaps you’ve happened to find a particularly bad combo. In which case it would be interesting to reveal the details. Not because you need “help” but perhaps to expose a weak combination.
Thx for the reply and yes I do have void resistance. Further play is revealing what BM21 had to say above. Cinderstrike seems to be the AOE skill needed to advance with the rogue, if you’re wanting to use a bow that is. I just couldn’t kill fast enough with flurry.
You’re obviously not looking to be helpful either.
Did you make this post because you want to help identify and solve a problem you believe you’ve found, or because you just wanted to tell everyone that you’re mad? Put another way, was your goal to make the game better or to make the game devs feel worse? Because only one of those things is useful, and I think that if it were the former you wouldn’t be so defensively resistant to sharing any information that could be used to pinpoint where your problems are coming from.
Imagine you are an EHG dev reading this thread. One person has claimed there is a balance issue. Several others have replied that they have experienced no balance issues at the same point in the campaign. This is also the first time you’ve heard this complaint. When no party has provided any details on the characters they used that did and did not experience balance issues, who do you believe? What is there that is actionable in this scenario? What can you do? What can you investigate? Should you pore over all of the damage and health numbers of every mob that is “on the way to Welryn”? Should you do the same for all the Rogue skills and passives that can be acquired by level 16? How much time is reasonable for you to spend trying to reproduce the alleged balance issue with no starting point and nothing to go on? When you have so many other things on your plate already, including other players claiming issues exist while also providing information you can use to check on them, do you even look into it at all?
Do you understand why what you’ve been doing in this thread is not useful to anybody reading it in solving the problem that you claim exists? It should not have taken half a dozen people browbeating you to drag this out of you:
Which is actually actionable and something that a dev could have a look at for possible issues.
This post is an example of why devs get conditioned to ignore their communities. Be better, dude.
Ah you know what? I’m going to say the same to you. “Be better”. You can take your combative attitude elsewhere. You’re not even slightly “helpful”. You’re ignored.
