When you get a “cinematic” where it says “press any key to skip”, if you press ESC, you don’t skip but you pause the game without any indication that this is what happened.
It just looks like the game is frozen. And esc is a super common button to press for skipping cutscenes.
It’s the same problem for in-game cutscenes.
