Logged in just now after ~3 hour break and my offline character was gone.

+1 happened to me as well. Created a new character and immediately logged out to verify if it happened again and it wasn’t in the char select screen. Checked if the character name was still in use and it was.
I think there might be some server issues going on. I havent been able to log in for a bit.
Check the list of online chars, it should also contain the offline char you’re looking for. Since the local save file is missing it looks like offline characters are created as online characters and not just listed in the wrong list.
