Off screen "SIEGE" golem attacks (to narrow down all the golems)

Could you make their distance from 50 screens away to maybe being visible so you don’t have to search for the fat munters. Thanks.

What mob are you refering to exactly? Name? Screenshot? Describe it?

Feedback like this is not really helpful if its ambiguous

They’re all kinda the same looking - the ones you find in soulfire giant as fuck with a big shield they have 2 different sized HUGEEEEEEEE AOE nuke attacks and they do them from miles off screen.

Also @Heavy in the database there are 3 that come up for golem and I’m pretty sure thats not really that ambiguous considering the 2 I am talking about are listed there with ranged attack and the 3rd is melee I highly doubt the devs are confused when I’m talking about a golem with a super long ranged attack from off screen but since you do help me with stupid questions a lot I guess I can forgive you for being snarky at me for once :stuck_out_tongue:

Some mobs are annoying to find when they’re shooting you offscreen.
I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue finiding the golems, but the poison plants that keep shooting you offscreen are annoying as hell to find, as are the constructs that create a lightning AoE at your feet.

I think we should have some indication on their general direction when being attacked by an offscreen mob.

I am not snarky, while there are only a few mobs actually called “Golem” your descriptioncould still mean many different mobs, that look like “golems”.

Anyway with your examples it is much more clear what you mean and that is good feedback.

I personally never had issues with any Type of Siege ygolem or variations of it.

The only thing I could see improving would be a telegraph when they do the windup for the big cone shaped flamethrower. Sometimes I pull them and then have to back away and then go closer again while they started channeling the cone flamethrower and I didn’t notice that they started the windup already.

Oh yeah those plants suck too @DJSamhein but they dont seem to 1 hit me for 7-8k dmg at 1000 corruption haha I am on a 34 inch ultra wide too so the viewing areas pretty big and yeh no indiciation of direction for plant or golen and when theres multi golems and you rush into one to slap it and the next one has laid his aoe down already somehow out pinging me on my 7ms ping and POOOWWWW and yes my def’s are maxed out haha abbys slam is laughable compared to these dudes and their explosions haha but yeah its more the aoe size and speed and off screen :smiley:

Both of which have an indicator for the direction the projectile came in from (for the plant, similar one for the construct).

This is already in the game.

So you deliberately pulled a mob off screen & let it start casting an aoe? :wink:

Sometimes I can figure out where the plant is from their skill animation, although often I still have to search for them. The indicator isn’t very clear. Most often I just move away and wait until they get up and get near me.

For the construct, I never noticed any indicator at all, ever. You just get a lightning circle at your feet.

It’s a small blue lightning line I think it’s just before the aoe.

good old siege golem, the aoe attack have circle indicator for like 3 sec, just don’t stand here. Its is one of the top damage attack in game lmao :face_holding_back_tears:

generally offscreen attacks that do not even have a direction you can refer from are bad.

generally i think aoes that go largely over three screens are dumb. there is mobs like champions with their directed attacks you cant even run from, you have to log into another game to escape them.

also evade is useless cause even two consecutive evades wont get you out of 80% the aoe attacks. aoe is to huge and overused. if you have threee aoe mobs, 3-6 screens are filled with unavoidable deadly aoe - its rediculous.

also i realized some targeted attacks that have clear visuals (like big troll stone throws) have their dmg apply far earlier than their visual.
i cant read code, this is not the matrix - i need the visuals to actually apply/sync with the dmg applied moment.

Ive never seen any small blue line lol there’s a lot of things that people say should be there or are there that well, just aren’t there. I might be an average player but I am definitely not blind.

@Llama8 maybe you could take a still from that video I linked or one from in game yourself to show me what I’m missing on mine - just rewatching the video I can’t see any blue line - also in the middle of fights where everything can one shot you at over 1000c there’s not always time to look around for this magical blue line - also I’ve played a zillion characters and never seen one at level 4/5 when you’re running round that garden area being shot with green rockets.

You can see I’m not the only one with the issue mate. The issue might not be a small blue indication line (that I’ve never seen in 840 hours of game play now) it’s the OFF SCREEN aspect @Llama8 it’s ridiculous the plants are much longer than the golems but the golems attack cover almost the whole screen sometimes, over lap and detonate before you get a chance to react as you are currently fighting other shit or heaven forbid think the coast is clear to look at look or start a nem battle.

It’s not the timer champ, it’s the amount of them spamming you off screen at high corruption while not being on the screen, it’s annoying and stupid. You can’t always not stand in it if there are 5 covering your whole screen in all directions while you’re fighting shit. Offscreen attacks are fucking retarded, thanks for your input.

I know this is 100% self inflicted, but I have taken the Weaver tree node that makes mobs from dungeons spawn in echoes. It’s soooooo fun (only, not) to have the golems from Soulfire Bastion appear and do thousands of necrotic damage from off screen. In the dungeon itself we can get damage imunity, but outside it becomes a matter of “move or die”.

Golems regardless of in or out of dungeon (and plants) shouldn’t attack off screen. I remember all the outrage threads at the echos where the spires would attack from end of map and how many people hated it so much they changed it. It’s a lesser extent but same same~ if you can’t see something it shouldn’t be able to attack you… unless it’s a well trained ninja but these are over sized weird looking chunky mobs, not ninja haha :stuck_out_tongue:

The video you linked had Wudijo pulling ~10 Siege Gollems but no constructs.

So, the problem is not “offscreen”, but “covering your whole screen” - you can’t avoid them. If there are ten golems not offscreen, how you avoid that? 1-2 extra seconds to run away or kill them fast enough? Idk how you even get into that situation.

Watched wudijo video. This situation he created himself. You see golem, you kill golem, but he didn’t do that and pulled all of the mobs around. Even after that I can’t see the problem, you see aoe attacks and avoid them. Just don’t stand around.

Idk man, golems are okay, they have attack indication at least. What about lightning diamond like laser beams guys? They are just shooting offscreen without any animation in your fov.

The diamond matrons? They have a casting animation where the beam coalesces.

The video was interesting, he did create the situation himself by pulling an aweful lot of Golems though I suspect that he wasn’t expecting quite as many to keep spawning. Is the amount that spawned reasonable? I’m not sure, I think it’s good to have mobs that slow the player down & don’t just die in 1-2 hits, but that was a lot of golems that spawned…
