Bought the game recently and I am enjoying it so far. Reminds of beta POE.
One thing that I feel is less than optimal and feels quite janky is the NPC, Portal and even zone interaction. Currently, if you walk close enough you automatically interact, although often times I do not want to. Simply put, this is frustrating. I find myself zoning accidentally all the time and doing a dance when trying to talk to a particular NPC. I would bet a lot of players feel the same.
Can I get used to it, sure, but I think this is one of those things where “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Clicking on things in order to engage with in an ARPG does not need to be revolutionized.
Can you confirm if that was indeed the case? Or might you have been click-holding your mouse when the interaction happen?
I had the same impression of what I thought was going on as you, until some time ago a dev was helping to troubleshoot this - because they didn’t program for interaction to take place automatically within a radius. So what happened in my case was that, suppose I was trying to walk across a waypoint, if I click a spot after the waypoint, my character will be able to walk past the waypoint without triggering it. But if I was click-holding on the mouse and moving the mouse across the same path that I want my character to move, then I end up triggering the waypoint.
In any case, I agree with you that the interactions feels weird, and a little too sensitive, coming from POE. But not sure if this is something high on the devs agenda.
