Npc and interaction zones

talking to npcs feels disconnecting from the game experience due to weird zones apprently in place handling if they talk to you. when i walk past an npc i do not wish to talk to it and often when i want to talk to an npc i do not stop before it but walk into it.
sometimes tho i do stop and talk the npc conversation starts as expected.
its a disconnecting experience if its not the case tho.

so as i continue to play these zones are basically for all interactibles and my guess is that its done for controller compatibility. if i just click where i want to go it is not a disconnecting experience half the time, but its still weird.

i am testing last epoch - since i paid for being a betatester, but its also a test if i want to invest further into it depending on the solidity of the game foundations, basics matter. especially if the respec is based on grind and what i see so far encourages to play alot of last epoch, which is a good thing so far.
if my gameplay experiences get disconnected by these little things the joy will fall off eventually - also chips on my assumed sanity lol.

This is an issue that has been discussed many times in feedback on this forum… The main thing there is the issue about holding down movement keys that initiates the interaction with actionable items in the game - NPC, Portals etc… This exists with mouse/keyboard play so I dont think that its specifically related to controller play - it may just be more prominent. Activating Portals this way is far more annoying than NPC interactions.

The devs have addressed some of this in the last dev update where they are streamlining the NPC dialogs and interactions specifically. The movement action is trickier and I am not entirely sure (cannot recall) that the devs have mentioned how they plan to address this because its interpretting the cursor moving over the active item as if you were clicking on it because you are in effect pressing an action button…

Thats great and its why everyone is here… One thing I would suggest is that you use the forums search function as I think that you may be missing out on previous discussions on the topics you are posting about… You may also want to participate in the Discord channels to see what other feedback is being made and what the devs responses have been (they are active almost every weekday).

last epoch isnt a game with many buttons to press, why not an interact button, could also double as destructable smasher? so not have the left mouse interact with things at all.
i say this so easily having no real clue and conscious of my lack in knowledge, its just my imagination.
