I havent restarted my client since 0.7.0D; was released. I finally closed my client to patch.

restarted machine; connection is good will continue to troubleshoot myself. If all else fails uninstall and reinstall game files
I can cancel the patch and still launch the game into 0.7.0d
Through steam? Have you tried a repair?
Right click the game and go to properties.select local files and click verify integrity of game files.
