Not all shards being put into inventory/bag

I started noticing that after a monolith run, my shard supply seemed low. So I did a few experiments and had results.

During a Monolith run, if a couple or few shards dropped next to one another, I would open my inventory (pressing I) and watch as I picked up (vacuumed) the shards. On average, only 1 or 2 of the 3 shards would appear. Around 30-50% of the amount dropped would go into my inventory.

After a Monolith run, I would open my inventory (pressing I) and click the “Store crafting items” button to put them into the crafting section. Then I would click on the chest to get my loot. Say 8 shards would drop. I’d click on a shard to vacuum them up. At this point, only about 3-4 would actually end up in my inventory. Again, at the 30-50% would appear.

Then I thought, well maybe they’re in my inventory, but not showing up. Again, I clicked “Store crafting items” to watch what was placed. Nope, only the shards that appeared in my inventory were displayed as being put into my crafting items.

In short, I’m thinking the vacuum is having an effect on what gets put into our bag/inventory. It’s sad when you pick up 30 or so shards, but actually only get 10-15 of them.

Are you accounting for the Runes/Glyphs? I’ve noticed personally that those vacuum directly to your crafting items.

I did a bit of testing on this just now and didn’t see any unusual behavior. I’m inclined to agree with Pyrotics-- are you sure that you’re not picking up Runes or Glyphs with the crafting material vacuum function? Runes and Glyphs go directly to the crafting items tab of the inventory.

If you’re certain that you’re only picking up shards and the count of items does not match, please upload a log file from a game session where this happened. Thanks!

AHHHHHH… tbh, I never paid attention to that. Now I feel like a fool. I will take a much closer look and see if it is a game-play issue or just my lack of paying attention.

Please… delete this post, as it is DEFINITELY not a bug.

Thank you both for pointing out what is actually happening.

We don’t delete posts for not being a bug-- someone could think they’re encountering the same thing in the future and search on the forum. Thanks for taking the time to post!

If I could maybe make a recommendation:

Perhaps have a different label color for Glyphs/Runes to differentiate them from Shards. This might help with any future confusion.
