No penalty for death in SC mode - suggestions

I took my Warlock with ~30 is phys resist into normal Lagon kept on getting splatted by the claw hit, after a few deaths the Lagon quest echo went grey & I had to do another normal mono to get enough stability.

This still happens, you may wish to try dieing a few times.

Unless you think I’m lieing, obviously (I’m not).

It might still happen on bosses. Or maybe just for normal monos. I haven’t tried it for either.

I just tried it on the Reign of Dragons empowered mono, died 10 times in a row to the Emperor and the stability didn’t change. So maybe this is only for the normal monos?

If it is then it’s a bit odd 'cause surely you’d have greater punishment later in the game?

Absolutely not. You want a penalty, play hardcore. 100% against experience loss!

It’s been established for quite some time that a positive incentive has psychologically better results than a negative one.

That’s why I think giving the bonus loot for succeeding is a way better approach than taking XP away for a death.

How about… NO?

Just don’t. I’m so relieved I could leave the stupid death penalty of that “friction based” masochist trip of a game (PoE, of course) behind me.

Please don’t put this nonsense here, if somebody wants to lose progress in SC, they can always go play friction, ah, I mean PoE.

Yes, I agree. And it makes me build better, work harder on my skills and character instead of avoiding content like the plague as I did in PoE where I avoided everything remotely fun to avoid XP loss.

XP loss on death is one of the worst ideas for an ARPG.

I think one of the reasons this game became so popular in so little time is because is not as hardcore as PoE.

I think quest echos losing stability got changed or its broke.

My wife and i are now in lvl 90 timelines. I noticed we never lost stability dying to an echo quest.

Idk i do remember before 1.0 u would lose stability. Didnt seeing anything in 1.o patch notes about it

Game with annoying death penalties
