Simple really… why is there nothing for 2h weapons in the Rogue class?
Now I realise that Dual-Wield is the main focus, but this was implemented across all classes so its not unique. And yes, they have bows… but why no 2h?
Unlike @Llama I am not expecting 2h Terror Maces to have bonuses for a Rogue like character, but what about the Polearm class…
Imagine a fast spear wielding character, spinning into attacks while dodging and shifting to the next. Seems pretty much a Rogue to me…
I have been playing with a DraalSting & even a spear and potentially using a Naginata when I level up… and it works REALLY well imho… even though its a slower weapon, its increased range is surprisingly good for keeping mobs at bay and its got 2h level affixes which make it (so far for me at least) on a par with dual weilding weapons in terms of damage.
but there is nothing in skills or passives specifically useful… its almost as if the devs dont want Rogues to use 2h weapons and make the penalty for doing so quite large.
I think you mean @Llama8 (not some other rando on the internet)…
I only went with a Terror Mace because it was the highest hit damage weapon that didn’t have base crit as an implicit (since all hits are crits anyway you don’t need the added base crit chance).
The passive tree’s lack of 2-h bonuses is by design so I don’t expect to see anything appear on it for 2-h. There should be more bonuses for throwing attacks though.
2-h works, but you’re never going to get the same damage from them as you do with two comparable 1-h weapons due to the lack of passives.
That’s why I still love P&P RPGs… I’ll never forget the face of my GM when I said “And after I snuck up to the bad boss I’ll backstab him with my twohanded sword…”. The instant panik and gamerule study that happened a split second later was fun.
It is suprising! The most defense focused sentinel class that screams sword and board got 2h nodes. Outside of this… don’t swordnodes work with 2h swords as well?
