There’s no private channels? can my friends and I have our own private channel or is that never going to be implemented?
I would assume something like this will come once we get more social features like clans/guilds.
But this will probably take a couple more patches.
Right now you cannot have something like private channels.
The only way is if you’re in a party together, then you have the party channel.

that’s kind of dissapointing, seems like a pretty basic feature. IRC has been around for a while, this shouldn’t be different or difficult.
Priorities, friend. Sure, IRC has been around awhile, but LE hasnt, and they are trying to build a fun and engaging game (first and foremost); chat improvements do happen and are coming, but you and your friends can chat to each other (say, in Party chat), and you dont have to be next to each other.
I’m excited for them to add it at some point, I really enjoy the camaraderie and fun we have though through different global channels and the communities they make.
I say this only cause in path of exile I have been in the same global chat for years and we were all hoping to find a place to talk and hang out with in-game.
I’m excited for the game today!
