No deaths allowed in a dungeon is bad design and not player friendly

New player coming from D4 and this game has impressed me a lot with its design choices, up until this one. I slothed through my first dungeon only to die at the boss to a mechanic, done…no do overs. Really?

I am the type who likes to figure things out for myself and I only get one try at the boss? By the time I get another key and go through again I’ll forget what killed me the first time. This is a bad, bad design. Even D4 gives you a certain number of tries, and the “keys” are not hard to get either. I had no complaints about design up until this point. This just makes me want to not even try dungeons. I doubt I will bother with another if I have to study a youtube video just to fight the boss. And even then don’t screw up! Nope.

Don’t get discouraged. I am with you that it shouldn’t be like this. It’s for those people that enjoyed the PoE labyrinth, which was the same: Endure it when you have to and avoid it when not.

Good thing is, you can spend 95+% of your time outside dungeons and only Julra (Temporal Sanctum) is required for most builds. That one you have to learn, though t3 should eventually be easy enough and that lets you upgrade uniques up to lvl 75.

Appreciate the perspective, I guess I can live with studying up on one if I have to lol.

After a few runs you will get the hang of it. It feels good once you get past them and understand the boss mechanics.

Not a game killer for me but I don’t care for this either. I mean if someone really wants to play like this just play hardcore IMO. It could use 1 less wing of trash and maybe 3 boss attempts then maybe I won’t have a stash tab filled with just keys
