New player QOL Suggestions

Hi I’ve recently come to this game and really have been enjoying the hell out of it. I haven’t made it to end game to get the full experience just yet, but I have some suggestions as a new player coming from other ARPGS. I would like to understand why things work the way they do, or some tips on how to even correct these issues I’m having. Really they are minor annoyances that build up over time that make me not want to log in anymore, which is a shame because the game has been a blast so far besides these small things.

  1. Allow separation of interact key from left mouse button entirely or let me remove interact on left mouse button when the button is held down.

I find this to be the most annoying thing to me personally so much so that I thought it was a bug, maybe it is? When I’m holding down my left mouse button to move around in the world, if I hover over an NPC or entrance/exit way, my player will move to it and activate whatever it is touching. This is especially annoying when I’m near an entrance/exit and I’m moving around it to loot or break things/attacking things and my character activates it and I get yanked into the other side. I find it really jarring and it feels bad. Is there a way to fix this in game already so it doesn’t function this way?

  1. Allow me to hide mouse hover tooltips when in combat so giant walls of text aren’t popping up when I’m still engaged in a fight. I couldn’t find a way to change this either so again any help would be appreciated if it’s a setting I overlooked.

  2. It feels bad getting stuck in an animation especially with as fast paced as the game is. When I activate or use an ability I expect it to work immediately so It’s been frustrating with it not working that way in this game.

  3. The controller support update was nice but it truly is annoying to use still. I would say it’s better than before, but it still needs a lot of tweaking. for example the option wheel requires a clunky amount of effort to jump to opening my inventory. it just feels really laggy or sticky if that makes sense. Not allowing me to remap my up and down dpad buttons now is really unfortunate because I was really happy that it was allowed before the update. I get it probably has something to do with how it works with cycling through things or something, but I really enjoyed that freedom.

  4. Adding skill points should have a confirmation window after each skillpoint I issue to something so I don’t immediately regret it. Sometimes I select something by accident and boom the point is gone and I have to reset it and waste a level. It feels bad being punished over a miss click.

  5. When I use the search function and the thing I’m looking for is highlighted, the rest of the items in my bags still seem too bright and not darkened out enough. It makes it a little difficult to see what I’m looking for.

  6. An in game Bug report system would be fantastic. I find myself too lazy sometimes when I encounter a bug or performance issues to go out of my way of the game to submit a bug, however if such a thing was in the game I would most likely use it while it is fresh on my mind. If there is one and I just couldn’t find it please let me know!

These are small things but over time have annoyed me to no end and I’m just giving my feedback on things that could be improved for a better player experience. Thanks for reading and I truly love this game and world you all have built. It truly is a great game.

In the past, other players have posted similar comments. One thing you can be assured of is that EHG listens, now they will not always incorporate what you are wanting, or it will be implemented further down the line. There have been cases that some complaints can be fixed in a couple of weeks or less.

#3 You will have to provide better detail on what you mean. Are you in combat? What conditions are you in with these animations, are you T-posing? This is a very open-ended and situational issue that has a lot of fine details to address. There are times where animations get in conflict based on actions. For example, I had my Sorc get hit with Majasa’s stone beam just after I teleported out of it, still stoning me but leaving me active.
#5 Has been on a back and forth discussion that they are still working on. As one of my constant issues is the white underline text that uses another skill has a partially or completely blocked skill box that makes it nearly impossible to determine what it is doing. They need to redesign the skill UI in the worst way.
#7 is coming with MP support from what I have read. I will let those who really should know the answer. There are other community support and gold texts that do a better job at that if they want to provide the answers at this time.

Thanks for the reply. It’s good to know there have been similar suggestions so maybe they will eventually get around to implementing these things in the future.

I don’t have one example for 3, but there are tons of interactions in the game that work this way. I am just too unfamiliar with the game for any one to come to mind at the moment and for that I’m sorry.
