First, I really love the game overall. Thank you to the people that made the game happen.
These are just my impressions and thoughts as a player who started with 1.0 but is an ARPG fan.
The specific area of the game I wanted to talk about was the arena. After hitting end game with a lvl 86ish sentinel I was working though prophecies and noticed I needed a rank 2 arena black sun type boss kill. I thought I had killed that boos on a higher tier recently so I assumed I needed to do it at tier 2. So resigned myself to being patient and farming tier 2 arenas. 10 arena runs later I still have not found this boss. Or gained more than 5% xp, or noticed any meaningful gains from this content.
Maybe I am wrong and you can complete this at a higher tier than 2. If so that is great! But the game does not present that information and that needs to be indicated somewhere. If not, it is a frustrating system that needs to be reworked because It feels like a punishment for people who don’t immediately drop such prophecies. Sim[ply making it so you can clear it at tier 2 or higher would probably be enough.
The arena waves themselves don’t feel great yet either, but I assume you are aware of that and will be tweaking it over time. I personally don’t like the mob speed being increased to super high values. it is likely that Increasing mob density and not having as much delay between waves would give arena more personality. Not increasing mob damage past a certain point might be a good option if certain (ward abusing) experimental affix’s are not present. I feel like ideally the mobs that can really do high damage need to be mid sized or greater and have move telegraphs.
I know every class is going to feel wildly different to balance in the arena. Ward stacking experimental gloves are going to make balance very hard. Best of luck with future changes. I know this isn’t the only content you are working on but it still has lots of potential!
